惟亞述王不如是思維、心中不如是意念、乃欲毀滅諸國、欲殄絕淨盡、

现在，许多国家聚集攻击你，说：“让锡安被玷污！让我们亲眼看到！”他们却不知道耶和华的意念，也不明白他的筹算，他聚集他们，像把禾捆聚到禾场。

他既按着上帝确定的旨意和预知被交与人，你们就藉着不法之人的手把他钉在十字架上，杀了。

耶路撒冷的居民和他们的官长，因为不认识这基督，也不明白每安息日所读的先知的书，把他定了死罪，正应验了先知的预言。虽然他们查不出他有该死的罪状，还是要求彼拉多把他杀了。他们既实现了经上指着他所记的一切话，就从木头上把他取下来，放在坟墓里。上帝却使他从死人中复活。

看哪，你总听说亚述诸王向列国所行的是尽行灭绝，难道你能幸免吗？我祖先所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；这些国的神明何曾拯救他们呢？哈马的王，亚珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪里呢？’”

恐怕希西家误导你们说，耶和华必拯救我们。列国的神明有哪一个曾救它本国脱离亚述王的手呢？哈马和亚珥拔的神明在哪里呢？西法瓦音的神明在哪里呢？它们曾救撒玛利亚脱离我的手吗？这些国的神明有谁曾救自己的国家脱离我的手呢？难道耶和华能救耶路撒冷脱离我的手吗？’”
