现在有许多国的民聚集攻击你，说：“愿锡安被玷污！愿我们亲眼见她遭报！”他们却不知道耶和华的意念，也不明白他的筹划。他聚集他们，好像把禾捆聚到禾场一样。

他既按着神的定旨先见被交与人，你们就藉着无法之人的手，把他钉在十字架上，杀了。

耶路撒冷居住的人和他们的官长，因为不认识基督，也不明白每安息日所读众先知的书，就把基督定了死罪，正应了先知的预言；虽然查不出他有当死的罪来，还是求彼拉多杀他；既成就了经上指着他所记的一切话，就把他从木头上取下来，放在坟墓里。神却叫他从死里复活。

你总听说亚述诸王向列国所行的乃是尽行灭绝，难道你还能得救吗？我列祖所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色，和属提拉撒的伊甸人；这些国的神何曾拯救这些国呢？哈马的王，亚珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪里呢？’”

你们要谨防，恐怕希西家劝导你们说：耶和华必拯救我们。列国的神有哪一个救他本国脱离亚述王的手呢？哈马和亚珥拔的神在哪里呢？西法瓦音的神在哪里呢？他们曾救撒玛利亚脱离我的手吗？这些国的神有谁曾救自己的国脱离我的手呢？难道耶和华能救耶路撒冷脱离我的手吗？’”
