當受罰之日、災禍遙臨、爾將何為、求拯濟於何人、置貨財於何處、

待主降罰、使遠邦之人橫加侵伐、爾將何為、求救於何人、藏寶於何地。

迨降罰於爾之日、禍患來自遠方之時、爾將何為、向何人而奔逃求救、爾之榮華、榮華或作富有存於何處、

What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?

What will you do on the day when the Lord punishes you? On that day trouble will come from far away. Who will you run to for help? Who will you trust your riches with?

What will you do on the day of punishment, in the ruin that will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth?

What will you do when I punish you, when I send disaster upon you from a distant land? To whom will you turn for help? Where will your treasures be safe?

What will you do on the day of punishment when devastation comes from far away? Who will you run to for help? Where will you leave your wealth?

Now what will you do in the day of punishment, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?

At that time those who live on this coast will say,‘ Look what has happened to our source of hope to whom we fled for help, expecting to be rescued from the king of Assyria! How can we escape now?’”

He lifts a signal flag for a distant nation, he whistles for it to come from the far regions of the earth. Look, they come quickly and swiftly.

then what will I do when God confronts me in judgment; when he intervenes, how will I respond to him?

and maintain good conduct among the non- Christians, so that though they now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God when he appears.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s angry judgment. The whole earth will be consumed by his fiery wrath. Indeed, he will bring terrifying destruction on all who live on the earth.”

Then the kings of the earth, the very important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.They said to the mountains and to the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,

Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger.

For look, the LORD is coming out of the place where he lives, to punish the sin of those who live on the earth. The earth will display the blood shed on it; it will no longer cover up its slain.

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were complaining,“ Jacob has taken everything that belonged to our father! He has gotten rich at our father’s expense!”

Those who go down to Egypt for help are as good as dead, those who rely on war horses, and trust in Egypt’s many chariots and in their many, many horsemen. But they do not rely on the Holy One of Israel and do not seek help from the LORD.Yet he too is wise and he will bring disaster; he does not retract his decree. He will attack the wicked nation, and the nation that helps those who commit sin.The Egyptians are mere humans, not God; their horses are made of flesh, not spirit. The LORD will strike with his hand; the one who helps will stumble and the one being helped will fall. Together they will perish.

“ The rebellious children are as good as dead,” says the LORD,“ those who make plans without consulting me, who form alliances without consulting my Spirit, and thereby compound their sin.They travel down to Egypt without seeking my will, seeking Pharaoh’s protection, and looking for safety in Egypt’s protective shade.But Pharaoh’s protection will bring you nothing but shame, and the safety of Egypt’s protective shade nothing but humiliation.

Look, the name of the LORD comes from a distant place in raging anger and awesome splendor. He speaks angrily and his word is like destructive fire.His battle cry overwhelms like a flooding river that reaches one’s neck. He shakes the nations in a sieve that isolates the chaff; he puts a bit into the mouth of the nations and leads them to destruction.

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich and his wealth multiplies!For he will take nothing with him when he dies; his wealth will not follow him down into the grave.

Isaiah the prophet visited King Hezekiah and asked him,“ What did these men say? Where do they come from?” Hezekiah replied,“ They come from the distant land of Babylon.”

The LORD had caused the Syrian camp to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a large army. Then they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has paid the kings of the Hittites and Egypt to attack us!”So they got up and fled at dusk, leaving behind their tents, horses, and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.When the men with a skin disease reached the edge of the camp, they entered a tent and had a meal. They also took some silver, gold, and clothes and went and hid it all. Then they went back and entered another tent. They looted it and went and hid what they had taken.

So they tracked them as far as the Jordan. The road was filled with clothes and equipment that the Syrians had discarded in their haste. The scouts went back and told the king.

Sinners are afraid in Zion; panic grips the godless. They say,‘ Who among us can coexist with destructive fire? Who among us can coexist with unquenchable fire?’

The prophets prophesy lies. The priests exercise power by their own authority. And my people love to have it this way. But they will not be able to help you when the time of judgment comes!

When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim turned to Assyria, and begged its great king for help. But he will not be able to heal you! He cannot cure your wound!

You mix uncleanness with obscene conduct. I tried to cleanse you, but you are not clean. You will not be cleansed from your uncleanness until I have exhausted my anger on you.“‘ I the LORD have spoken; judgment is coming and I will act! I will not relent, or show pity, or be sorry! I will judge you according to your conduct and your deeds, declares the sovereign LORD.’”

So Death will open up its throat, and open wide its mouth; Zion’s dignitaries and masses will descend into it, including those who revel and celebrate within her.

‘ Look, a time is coming when everything in your palace and the things your ancestors have accumulated to this day will be carried away to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the LORD.‘ Some of your very own descendants whom you father will be taken away and will be made eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

You say,‘ No, we will flee on horses,’ so you will indeed flee. You say,‘ We will ride on fast horses,’ so your pursuers will be fast.

The LORD will raise up a distant nation against you, one from the other side of the earth as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,

At that time men will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made for themselves to worship, into the caves where rodents and bats live,so they themselves can go into the crevices of the rocky cliffs and the openings under the rocky overhangs, trying to escape the dreadful judgment of the LORD and his royal splendor, when he rises up to terrify the earth.
