Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

萬軍之主耶和華曰、我居錫安之民歟、雖亞述擊爾以梃、加爾以杖、倣乎埃及、爾勿懼之、

萬有之主耶和華、告郇邑之民曰、亞述之眾、我民勿懼之、彼舉杖箠、加爾以扑責、與昔埃及人無異、

因此主萬有之天主如是云、居郇之我民、毋懼亞述、今彼以梃擊爾、舉杖加撲責於爾、與昔伊及無異、

The Lord rules over all. The Lord says,“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian army. They beat you with rods. They lift up war clubs against you, just as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:“ O my people, who dwell in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with the rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did.

So this is what the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, says:“ O my people in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they oppress you with rod and club as the Egyptians did long ago.

Therefore, the Lord GOD of Armies says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though they strike you with a rod and raise their staff over you as the Egyptians did.

Therefore this is what the Lord God of armies says:“ My people, you who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod, and lifts up his staff against you the way Egypt did.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts:“ O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian, though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

So here is what the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of Assyria, even though they beat you with a club and lift their cudgel against you as Egypt did.

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, says“ My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Isaiah said to them,“ Tell your master,‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid of what you have heard— those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you.

For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.

“ Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea.During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said,“ Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the Lord swept them into the sea.The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen— the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh.But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelitesand worked them ruthlessly.They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah,“ When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.”

Indeed, of Zion it will be said,“ This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.”The Lord will write in the register of the peoples:“ This one was born in Zion.”

I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.

and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

“ Woe to the Assyrian, the rod of my anger, in whose hand is the club of my wrath!

Has the Lord struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless:“ Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?”Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil—they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them.

Your right hand, Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, Lord, shattered the enemy.“ In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy boasted,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken; from the root of that snake will spring up a viper, its fruit will be a darting, venomous serpent.

The Egyptians— all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops— pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.

Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

“ Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:“ He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city,” declares the Lord.“ I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!”

this is the word the Lord has spoken against him:“ Virgin Daughter Zion despises and mocks you. Daughter Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.

Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”

say to those with fearful hearts,“ Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

And Pharaoh’s slave drivers beat the Israelite overseers they had appointed, demanding,“ Why haven’t you met your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?”
