Therefore, the Lord GOD of Armies says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though they strike you with a rod and raise their staff over you as the Egyptians did.

萬軍之主耶和華曰、我居錫安之民歟、雖亞述擊爾以梃、加爾以杖、倣乎埃及、爾勿懼之、

萬有之主耶和華、告郇邑之民曰、亞述之眾、我民勿懼之、彼舉杖箠、加爾以扑責、與昔埃及人無異、

因此主萬有之天主如是云、居郇之我民、毋懼亞述、今彼以梃擊爾、舉杖加撲責於爾、與昔伊及無異、

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

The Lord rules over all. The Lord says,“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian army. They beat you with rods. They lift up war clubs against you, just as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:“ O my people, who dwell in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with the rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did.

So this is what the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, says:“ O my people in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they oppress you with rod and club as the Egyptians did long ago.

Therefore this is what the Lord God of armies says:“ My people, you who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod, and lifts up his staff against you the way Egypt did.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts:“ O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian, though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

So here is what the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of Assyria, even though they beat you with a club and lift their cudgel against you as Egypt did.

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, says“ My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God( the heavenly Jerusalem), to myriads of angels, a festive gathering,to the assembly of the firstborn whose names have been written in heaven, to a Judge, who is God of all, to the spirits of righteous people made perfect,and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which says better things than the blood of Abel.

who said to them,“ Tell your master,‘ The LORD says this: Don’t be afraid because of the words you have heard, with which the king of Assyria’s attendants have blasphemed me.

For people will live on Zion in Jerusalem. You will never weep again; he will show favor to you at the sound of your outcry; as soon as he hears, he will answer you.

For you have shattered their oppressive yoke and the rod on their shoulders, the staff of their oppressor, just as you did on the day of Midian.

Do not call everything a conspiracy that these people say is a conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear; do not be terrified.You are to regard only the LORD of Armies as holy. Only he should be feared; only he should be held in awe.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea. The LORD drove the sea back with a powerful east wind all that night and turned the sea into dry land. So the waters were divided,and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left.The Egyptians set out in pursuit— all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen— and went into the sea after them.During the morning watch, the LORD looked down at the Egyptian forces from the pillar of fire and cloud, and threw the Egyptian forces into confusion.He caused their chariot wheels to swerve and made them drive with difficulty.“ Let’s get away from Israel,” the Egyptians said,“ because the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”Then the LORD said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the water may come back on the Egyptians, on their chariots and horsemen.”So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea returned to its normal depth. While the Egyptians were trying to escape from it, the LORD threw them into the sea.The water came back and covered the chariots and horsemen, plus the entire army of Pharaoh that had gone after them into the sea. Not even one of them survived.But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left.That day the LORD saved Israel from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.When Israel saw the great power that the LORD used against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and believed in him and in his servant Moses.

Come, let’s deal shrewdly with them; otherwise they will multiply further, and when war breaks out, they will join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country.”So the Egyptians assigned taskmasters over the Israelites to oppress them with forced labor. They built Pithom and Rameses as supply cities for Pharaoh.But the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread so that the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites.They worked the Israelites ruthlesslyand made their lives bitter with difficult labor in brick and mortar and in all kinds of fieldwork. They ruthlessly imposed all this work on them.The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives— the first, whose name was Shiphrah, and the second, whose name was Puah—“ When you help the Hebrew women give birth, observe them as they deliver. If the child is a son, kill him, but if it’s a daughter, she may live.”

And it will be said of Zion,“ This one and that one were born in her.” The Most High himself will establish her.When he registers the peoples, the LORD will record,“ This one was born there.” Selah

I am bringing my justice near; it is not far away, and my salvation will not delay. I will put salvation in Zion, my splendor in Israel.

to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the LORD to glorify him.

Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger— the staff in their hands is my wrath.

Did the LORD strike Israel as he struck the one who struck Israel? Was Israel killed like those killed by the LORD?

The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling seizes the ungodly:“ Who among us can dwell with a consuming fire? Who among us can dwell with ever-burning flames?”The one who lives righteously and speaks rightly, who refuses profit from extortion, whose hand never takes a bribe, who stops his ears from listening to murderous plots and shuts his eyes against evil schemes—he will dwell on the heights; his refuge will be the rocky fortresses, his food provided, his water assured.

LORD, your right hand is glorious in power. LORD, your right hand shattered the enemy.You overthrew your adversaries by your great majesty. You unleashed your burning wrath; it consumed them like stubble.The water heaped up at the blast from your nostrils; the currents stood firm like a dam. The watery depths congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy said:“ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. My desire will be gratified at their expense. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.”But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Don’t rejoice, all of you in Philistia, because the rod of the one who struck you is broken. For a viper will come from the root of a snake, and from its egg comes a flying serpent.

The Egyptians— all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, his horsemen, and his army— chased after them and caught up with them as they camped by the sea beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.

Whoever remains in Zion and whoever is left in Jerusalem will be called holy— all in Jerusalem written in the book of life—

“ Therefore, this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build up a siege ramp against it.He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city. This is the LORD’s declaration.I will defend this city and rescue it for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.”

this is the word the LORD has spoken against him: Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you; Daughter Jerusalem shakes her head behind your back.

Cry out and sing, citizen of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel is among you in his greatness.”

Say to the cowardly:“ Be strong; do not fear! Here is your God; vengeance is coming. God’s retribution is coming; he will save you.”

Then the Israelite foremen, whom Pharaoh’s slave drivers had set over the people, were beaten and asked,“ Why haven’t you finished making your prescribed number of bricks yesterday or today, as you did before?”
