Though your people be like the sand by the sea, Israel, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous.

Israel, your people might be as many as the grains of sand by the sea. But only a few of them will return. The Lord has handed down a death sentence. He will destroy his people. What he does is right.

以賽亞言以色列人曰、以色列眾子、其數雖如海沙、而得救者有幾、主言必應、以義定之、蓋所定之言、主將行之於其邦、

其中居民、尚存什一、屢遭喪敗、譬彼橡樹、雖經斬伐、猶留其幹、為善之人亦若是。

最後七日、主必與眾民立約、七日之間、祭祀將不復行、殘賊可惡之物、立於聖地、所定之災、必有應驗、終至荒蕪。

眩惑四方邦國、招集角與馬各、使戰、其數如海沙、

今猶有幾人、乃上帝垂恩遴選者、以恩則不以功、否、則恩不為恩、以功則不以恩、否、則功不為功、

乃爾剛愎、罔有悛心、積愆干怒、待上帝震怒、義鞫顯日、

並誅善惡不可、待善惡相等亦不可、鞫天下者、豈不行義乎。

猶大以色列二族、眾如海濱之沙、不可勝數、皆飲食歡樂。

越至於後、以色列族其數必如海沙、不能斗量籌算也、今我語人曰、爾非我民、異日將稱為永生上帝眾子、

定一日、欲以所立之人、義判天下、而復生之、俾眾徵信焉、○

敵之城垣、變為荒蕪、敵之宅第、盡為邱墟、牛犢皆牧於彼、或寢或訛、嚙蒭蕘而食萌櫱、枝幹枯槁、即遭毀折、女子拾焉、焚之以火、蓋彼敵人、懵然無知、故我造化之主、不加矜憫。

我曰主歟、將至何時、曰、迨乎城垣傾圮、土地荒蕪、室廬寂寞、無人居之、

我今所言者、藉人言耳、曰、我不義、益彰上帝之義、吾何以稱之哉、如是而上帝施刑、豈義乎、曰、非也、若然、則上帝焉能鞫世人耶、

泛濫猶大國、幾將滅頂、左翼右翼之兵、遍於以馬內利四境。

爾曹自謂與死亡結約、與陰府訂盟、天降大雨、行潦汎濫、必不及於斯土、我惟誑詞是恃、而適以自欺。耶和華曰、屋隅要石、我所推選、我所器重、置於郇城、為鞏固之基、使信之者、無戒心、我秉公義、以法則為準繩、使降大雹、行潦汎濫、翦滅逋逃之藪、以去爾所恃、則爾與死亡所結之約不固、陰府所訂之盟弗堅、行潦淹於斯土、爾其淪亡、行潦汎濫、橫溢四境、斯難頻至、危在旦夕、爾眾盡為所淹、聞風而驚駭不已。諺云、床榻甚短、不能暢其四肢、衾裯甚狹、不能蔽其全體、耶和華勃興、赫然震怒、與在比哩心山基遍谷、無以異也、惟降災於選民、實所罕有、爾曹勿復侮慢、恐爾之縲絏加嚴、我聞萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、將殲滅斯境矣。
