耶和華遣使至亞述王營壘、滅諸勁旅、與武士長、亞述王恥之、遄歸故土、入其上帝殿、為子所弒。

萬有之主耶和華矢之曰、我意已定、我命必成、亞述軍至我地、陟我岡、我必覆亡之、蹂躪之、脫民於苛役、去民之重軛、此我所命於天下、所行於列國中。我萬有之主耶和華命之、誰得廢之、行之、孰能禦之。

當是日雅各家肥健之人、變為瘦瘠、尊榮之輩、降為卑賤、

異邦之人、強暴特甚、猝然遁逃、猶之塵埃、無異糠秕。萬有之主耶和華、將以霹靂地震、狂飆烈燄、降罰於異邦人。凡攻亞列、圍其城垣、使之困憊、其人雖多、必將淪喪、同於宵夢、若饑者夢食、醒而依然枵腹、若渴者夢飲、醒而依然渴乏、列國之眾、攻擊郇山、亦將若是。

富厚者之田宅、今皆荒蕪、異邦之人、牽羊以至、隨意嚙蒭、

因爾狂妄驕奢、升聞於上、故必置圈於爾鼻、置勒於爾口、使爾仍由其途而返。

戰士之履、音響遙聞、血染征衣、惟此武備、俱當焚燬、

是夕耶和華之使者、出在亞述營、擊其士卒十八萬五千、詰朝、惟見尸骸而已。

希律不歸榮上帝、主之使者遂鑿之、為蟲所噬而氣絕、○

以賽亞曰、當告爾主耶和華云、爾聞亞述王僕隸侮我之言、毋畏、我將聳動其心、使聞一事、即歸故土、而殞於刃、

故我必使亞述王、率師襲之、若大河狂流、勢洶湧而逾岸、

耶和華曰、我將勃興、顯我巨力、彰我大能、敵之氣燄、如火之烈、災及其身、譬彼懷妊、所孕者秕糠、所產者草芥、我燬其軍旅、若陶人之煮灰、猶刈荊棘、焚之以火、我著其經綸、遠者宜聽從焉、我彰其全能、近者宜共仰焉、在彼郇城、有罪惡狂妄之徒、見余降災、畏葸戰慄曰、我遇斯火、永遭炮烙、孰能當焉、

茂林良田、俱遭焚燬、中有餘木、其數惟寡、小子可稽察之、亞述王身必喪、命必絕、如病者之漸痿、
