但你的众仇敌必像纤细的尘埃一样消散，众多的残暴之徒必如被风刮去的糠秕。突然，刹那之间，万军之耶和华必带着雷轰、地震、巨响、旋风、暴风和烈火来临。攻打、围困耶路撒冷及其堡垒的各国军队必如梦幻，如夜间的异象一样消失。他们好像饥饿的人梦中吃饭，醒来仍然饥饿；像口渴的人梦中喝水，醒来仍然渴得发昏。攻打锡安山的各国军队结局都必如此。”

那时，羊群在那里吃草，如在自己的草场，寄居者在富人的荒场上进食。

以赛亚对他们说：“告诉你们主人，耶和华这样说，‘你不要因亚述王的仆人那些亵渎我的话而害怕。我必惊动亚述王的心，让他听见风声后便返回本国，使他在那里死于刀下。’”

我要差来亚述王的军队，使他们像幼发拉底河的洪流一样汹涌而来，淹没一切水道，漫过河岸，

耶和华说：“我现在要施展大能，我必受尊崇。你们所谋的像糠秕，所行的如碎秸，毫无价值。你们的气息会像火一样烧灭你们自己。列邦必被烧成灰烬，好像割下的荆棘被火焚烧。”远方的人啊，要听一听我的作为。近处的人啊，要承认我的大能。锡安的罪人恐惧，不敬虔的人颤抖。他们说：“我们谁能住在烈火中呢？谁能住在永不止息的火焰里呢？”

他茂盛的树林和肥美的田园必被彻底摧毁，犹如病人渐渐消亡。
