凭撒谎的舌头得来的财宝，是飘荡的浮云、死亡的追寻。恶人的暴行必拖累自己；因为他们不肯秉行公正。

那些使房屋连接房屋，使田地连接田地，以致不留余地的人，有祸了！你们只可以独居在境内。

以色列是个商人，手里拿着诡诈的天平，喜爱欺压别人。以法莲说：“我成了富翁，我为自己发了财；在我所有的收益中，人不能找出我有什么罪孽，可算为罪恶的。”

财富（传统作“酒”，今照死海古卷译作“财富”）使人奸诈狂傲，不得安宁；扩张欲望，如同阴间；又像死亡，永不满足。他们招聚万国，集合万民，都归自己。这些国民岂不都用譬喻、讽刺、暗语指着他们说：“那些滥得他人财物的，满载别人抵押品的，有祸了！他们这样要到几时呢？”你的债主（“你的债主”或译：“咬你的”）岂不忽然起来？扰乱你的岂不醒起？你就成了他们的掳物。因你抢掠多国，杀人流血，向全地各城和其中所有居民施行暴力，所以剩下的人也必抢掠你。你这为自己的家积聚不义之财，在高处搭窝，以逃避灾害的，有祸了！你剪除多国的民，反害了自己；你所谋算的，使你的家蒙羞。石头必从墙里呼叫，梁木必在树中应声。

灭亡以先，人心高傲；尊荣以先，必有谦卑。

你们劫掠银子，抢夺金子吧！积蓄的财宝无穷无尽，珍贵的器皿不可胜数。现在却空虚、荒凉，一无所有；人心惊惶，两膝发抖，全身疼痛，面无血色。狮子的洞穴在哪里？喂养幼狮的地方在哪里？公狮、母狮和幼狮不受惊吓之处，可以闲游的地方又在哪里呢？公狮为幼狮撕碎足够的食物，为母狮掐死活物；把猎物塞满了它的洞，把撕碎的填满了它的穴。万军之耶和华说：看哪！我必攻击你，我要把你的（按照《马索拉文本》，「你的」作「她的」;现参照其他古译本翻译）战车焚烧成烟，刀剑必吞灭你的幼狮；我必从地上除去你的猎物，你使者的声音也必不再有人听见。这流人血的城，有祸了！全城欺诈，充满劫掠；抢夺的事总不止息。
