Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers that write perverseness;

祸哉！那些设立不义之律例的和记录奸诈之判语的，

制定不义律例、起草不公法令的人啊，你们有祸了！

那些制定奸恶律例的，和那些记录诡诈判语的，有祸了！

祸哉！那些制定邪恶律例、记录不义判决的！

禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的和記錄奸詐之判語的，

禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的，和記錄奸詐之判詞的，

禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的，和記錄奸詐之判詞的，

制定不義律例、起草不公法令的人啊，你們有禍了！

那些制定奸惡律例的，和那些記錄詭詐判語的，有禍了！

有禍啊，那些制定奸惡之律例的，和那些忙於記錄毒害人之判語的！

禍哉！那些制定邪惡律例、記錄不義判決的！

立不義之律、錄乖戾之詞、

立法嚴酷、載之典章、虐遇其民、其有禍乎。

立不善之法度、錄不義之判語、

Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees,

How terrible it will be for you who make laws that aren’t fair! How terrible for you who write laws that make life hard for others!

Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression,

What sorrow awaits the unjust judges and those who issue unfair laws.

Woe to those enacting crooked statutes and writing oppressive laws

Woe to those who enact unjust statutes And to those who constantly record harmful decisions,

“ Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed

Woe to those enacting crooked statutes and writing oppressive laws

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness[ which] they have prescribed;

Those who enact unjust policies are as good as dead, those who are always instituting unfair regulations,

Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees;

Woe unto you lawyers! for ye took away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.

But woe unto you Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and every herb, and pass over justice and the love of God: but these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.Woe unto you Pharisees! for ye love the chief seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the marketplaces.Woe unto you! for ye are as the tombs which appear not, and the men that walk over them know it not.

Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.Then shall they cry unto Jehovah, but he will not answer them; yea, he will hide his face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and that ladeth himself with pledges!

Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.

And he said, Woe unto you lawyers also! for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.Woe unto you! for ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;

For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope;

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous,

Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; that useth his neighbor’s service without wages, and giveth him not his hire;

Woe to him that getteth an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity.They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.

Now, O king, establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise! Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Take him yourselves, and crucify him: for I find no crime in him.

Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and establisheth a city by iniquity!

Woe unto him that giveth his neighbor drink, to thee that addest thy venom, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!

These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.

Nay, in heart ye work wickedness; Ye weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.

And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.Then were the king’s scribes called in the first month, on the thirteenth day thereof; and there was written according to all that Haman commanded unto the king’s satraps, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and it was sealed with the king’s ring.And letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

Woe unto them! for they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!

Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him; for what his hands have done shall be done unto him.

And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.
