噫、干罪之邦、負咎之民、作惡之輩、妄行之子、離棄耶和華、輕視以色列之聖者、疏而遠之、

我耶和華為以色列族之聖主、斯民侮予、棄予逆予、風俗澆漓、陷於罪戾、入於邪僻、豈不哀哉。

禍哉、造孽之國、負罪之民、行惡之種、敗壞之子、違棄主、侮以色列之聖者、背主而退、

Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

How terrible it will be for this sinful nation! They are loaded down with guilt. They are people who do nothing but evil. They are children who are always sinning. They have deserted the Lord. They have turned against the Holy One of Israel. They have turned their backs on him.

Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.

Oh, what a sinful nation they are— loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the Lord. They have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

Oh sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, brood of evildoers, depraved children! They have abandoned the LORD; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned their backs on him.

Oh, sinful nation, People weighed down with guilt, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him.

Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, They have turned away backward.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil- doers, children that deal corruptly! they have forsaken Jehovah, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are estranged and gone backward.

Oh sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, brood of evildoers, depraved children! They have abandoned the Lord; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned their backs on Him.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

The sinful nation is as good as dead, the people weighed down by evil deeds. They are offspring who do wrong, children who do wicked things. They have abandoned the LORD, and rejected the Holy One of Israel. They are alienated from him.

Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the Lord your God when he led you in the way? (niv)

“ My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. (niv)

But am I the one they are provoking? declares the Lord. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame? (niv)

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them:“ You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? (niv)

to those who say,“ Let God hurry; let him hasten his work so we may see it. The plan of the Holy One of Israel— let it approach, let it come into view, so we may know it.” (niv)

Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you,” declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

you will not join them in burial, for you have destroyed your land and killed your people. Let the offspring of the wicked never be mentioned again. (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves. (niv)

“ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (niv)

And the Lord said to Moses:“ You are going to rest with your ancestors, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them. (niv)

then say to them,‘ It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord,‘ and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. They forsook me and did not keep my law.But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me. (niv)

Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord,“ We have sinned against you, forsaking our God and serving the Baals.” (niv)

Indeed, our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

a people who continually provoke me to my very face, offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on altars of brick; (niv)

Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (niv)

“ You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? (niv)

And the answer will be:“ It is because this people abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the covenant he made with them when he brought them out of Egypt. (niv)

Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel! (niv)

Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies. (niv)

“ Summon archers against Babylon, all those who draw the bow. Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her for her deeds; do to her as she has done. For she has defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:“ In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. (niv)

Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty. (niv)

All prostitutes receive gifts, but you give gifts to all your lovers, bribing them to come to you from everywhere for your illicit favors. (niv)

How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the wasteland! (niv)

Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” (niv)

How skilled you are at pursuing love! Even the worst of women can learn from your ways. (niv)

But they did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their ancestors.’ (niv)

so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it. (niv)

“ And here you are, a brood of sinners, standing in the place of your fathers and making the Lord even more angry with Israel. (niv)

The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. (niv)

They would not be like their ancestors— a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him. (niv)

For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the Lord Almighty, though their land is full of guilt before the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the Lord and glory in the Holy One of Israel. (niv)

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. (niv)

Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence. (niv)

Leave this way, get off this path, and stop confronting us with the Holy One of Israel!”Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says:“ Because you have rejected this message, relied on oppression and depended on deceit, (niv)

Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them. (niv)

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. (niv)

Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord. (niv)

“ But you— come here, you children of a sorceress, you offspring of adulterers and prostitutes!Who are you mocking? At whom do you sneer and stick out your tongue? Are you not a brood of rebels, the offspring of liars? (niv)

I send him against a godless nation, I dispatch him against a people who anger me, to seize loot and snatch plunder, and to trample them down like mud in the streets. (niv)

For these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction. (niv)

“ You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord:“ Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’? (niv)

“ You stiff- necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— (niv)

for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. (niv)
