The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the fire.”

因此，火舌怎样吞噬麦秸，干草怎样倒在火焰中，照样，他们的根也必像腐朽之物，他们的花必像尘土飞散；因为他们厌弃万军之耶和华的训诲，藐视以色列圣者的言语。

看哪！你们一切点火、用火把围绕自己的，就在你们火焰的光和你们所点的火把中走下去吧！你们必躺在痛苦之地——这就是从我手中临到你们的！

就要喝神愤怒的酒，就是混合在神震怒之杯中那没有稀释的酒。他将要在圣天使们面前、羔羊面前，在烈火和硫磺中受折磨。折磨他们时的烟往上冒，直到永永远远。那些膜拜兽和兽像的，以及任何接受它名字印记的，都将日夜得不到安息。

罪人在锡安惧怕，不敬虔的人被战兢抓住，说：“我们中间谁能与吞噬之火同住？我们中间谁能与不灭之焰共居？”

如果你的一只手使你绊倒，就把它砍掉！对你来说，缺一只手进入永生，要比双手齐全下地狱，到那永不熄灭的火里好多了。

万军之耶和华说：“看哪！那日子将要来到，燃烧如火炉；所有傲慢的和作恶的都必成为麦秸，那要来的日子必把他们烧尽，不留下一根一枝。

耶和华啊，你的手高举，他们却不看！愿他们看到你对子民的热心就蒙羞；愿你为敌人所预备的烈火吞噬他们！

他把战车、马匹、军队和勇士都领出，使他们一同躺下不再起来，使他们灭没好像灯芯熄灭一样——耶和华如此说：

因着万军之耶和华的盛怒，地被焚毁，百姓必像烧火的燃料，没有人怜恤自己的兄弟。

天被劈裂，好像书卷被卷起来；一切山岭和海岛也都从原处被挪开了。地上的众君王、大臣、军官、富有的、有权的、所有的奴隶和自由人，都藏在洞穴里和山岭的岩石间。他们对山岭和岩石说：“倒在我们身上吧！把我们藏起来，好躲避坐在宝座上那一位的脸和羔羊的震怒；因为他们震怒的大日子到了，谁能站得住呢？”
