錫安的罪人恐懼，不敬虔的人顫抖。他們說：「我們誰能住在烈火中呢？誰能住在永不止息的火焰裡呢？」

如果你一隻手使你犯罪，就砍掉它！

英勇的統領要在陰間談論埃及王和他的盟友說，『這些喪身刀下、未受割禮的人下來長眠了。』

你懲罰的手高高舉起，他們卻看不見。願他們因看見你向你子民所發的熱心而感到羞愧。願你為敵人預備的火燒滅他們。

祂使埃及的戰車、馬匹、軍兵、勇士傾巢而出，一同倒下，不再起來，像熄滅的燈火一樣滅沒。

萬軍之耶和華的烈怒必如火一般燒焦大地，人們成為燒火的柴，甚至弟兄彼此相煎。

天空也像書卷被捲起來，所有的山嶺和海島都被挪離原位。地上的君王、顯貴、將領、富豪、有勢力的、一切奴隸和自由人都躲藏在山洞裡和岩穴間。他們哀求群山和岩石，說：「倒下來遮蓋我們，將我們藏起來吧！我們不敢面對寶座上的那位和羔羊的烈怒啊！因為祂們發烈怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？」
