這是基於那永恆生命的盼望，而這盼望是那不撒謊的神在亙古以前所應許的。

因此，我們必須更加留心所聽過的事，免得隨流漂去。要知道，那藉著天使所說的話既然是確定的，連一切過犯和悖逆都受到了應得的報應，那麼，如果我們忽視了如此偉大的救恩，又怎麼能逃脫報應呢？這救恩起初由主傳講，後來由那些聽見的人向我們證實。

以色列的永恆者不說謊，也不改變心意；因為他不像人那樣會改變心意。」

你們的男人必倒在刀下，你們的勇士必倒在戰場。

惡人卻有禍了，他們必遭災難，因為他們手所做的必回報到自己身上。

如果你們繼續作惡，無論是你們還是你們的王，都必被除滅。」
