耶和華這樣說：你們要施行公正和公義，解救被搶奪的脫離欺壓者的手，不可虐待或以強暴對待寄居的、孤兒和寡婦，也不可在這地方流無辜人的血。

世人哪！耶和華已經指示你甚麼是善，他向你所要的又是甚麼；無非是要你行公義，好憐憫，謙虛謹慎與你的神同行。

你們要為貧寒的人和孤兒伸冤，為困苦和窮乏的人伸張正義。要搭救貧寒和窮困的人，救他們脫離惡人的手。”

你的官長存心悖逆，與盜賊同夥；人都貪愛賄賂，追索私酬；他們不替孤兒伸冤，寡婦的案件也呈不到他們面前。

你要開口說話，秉公審判，為困苦和窮乏的人伸冤。”

“萬軍之耶和華曾這樣告訴你們的列祖說：‘你們要執法公正，各人要以慈愛和憐憫待自己的兄弟。寡婦、孤兒、寄居的和貧窮人，你們都不可欺壓，也不可各自心裡圖謀惡事，陷害自己的兄弟。’

難道你是用香柏木爭勝來表明王的身分嗎？你父親不是也吃也喝，也施行公正和公義嗎？那時他得享福樂。他為困苦和貧窮人伸冤，那時他得享福樂。這不是認識我的真義嗎？”這是耶和華的宣告。

地上所有謙卑的人，就是遵守耶和華典章的人哪！你們要尋求耶和華，你們要尋求公義，尋求謙卑。在耶和華忿怒的日子，你們或許得以隱藏起來。

你們應當行這些事：你們各人要與鄰舍說真話，在你們的城門口要憑著誠實施行帶來和平的審判。

因此，王啊！請你接納我的勸告，施行公義，斷絕罪過，憐憫受欺壓者，斷絕罪孽，你的平安或者可以延長。”
