所羅門跪在耶和華的壇前，舉著手向耶和華禱告完畢，

當主人起來把門關閉之後，你們才站在外面叩門哀求，說，『主啊，給我們開門吧！』主人必說，『我不認識你們，你們是從哪裡來的？』「那時，你們必說，『我們不是在一起用過餐嗎？你不是在街上教導過我們嗎？』「主人必說，『我告訴你們，我不認識你們，也不知道你們是從哪裡來的。你們這些作惡的人，走開！』「當你們看見亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各和眾先知在上帝的國，自己卻被丟在門外，必要在那裡哀哭切齒。

祂又對我說：「人子啊，你看見了嗎？猶大人的這些可憎行徑還算小事嗎？他們到處行殘暴之事，再三惹我發怒，手拿樹枝舉向鼻前祭拜偶像。因此，我必憤怒地對待他們，我必不顧惜他們，也不憐憫他們，即使他們大聲向我呼求，我也不聽。」

我願男人舉起聖潔的手隨處禱告，不發怒，不爭辯。

因為不敬虔的人將被剷除，上帝將奪去他的性命。那時，他還有何指望？患難臨到他時，上帝豈會垂聽他的呼求？

「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！因為你們當著人們的面關閉天國之門，自己不進去，也不讓別人進去。

雖然耶和華掩面不顧雅各家，但我仍要等候祂，冀望於祂。

「你們禱告時不可像外族人那樣喋喋不休，他們以為長篇大論，就必蒙上帝垂聽。

獻晚祭的時候，我滿懷憂傷地起來，穿著那撕裂的衣服和外袍，雙膝跪下，向我的上帝耶和華伸出雙手，

雅各家的首領，以色列家的統治者啊，你們要聽！你們厭惡正義，顛倒是非；以血腥建立錫安，以罪惡建造耶路撒冷。城裡的首領為貪贓而枉法，祭司為銀子而施教，先知為錢財而占卜。他們卻宣稱倚靠耶和華，說：「耶和華不是在我們當中嗎？災禍不會臨到我們。」
