The prophet, along with my God, is the watchman over Ephraim, yet snares await him on all his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

People of Ephraim, the prophet, along with my God, is warning you of danger. But you set traps for him everywhere he goes. You hate him so much you even wait for him in God’s house.

The prophet is the watchman of Ephraim with my God; yet a fowler’s snare is on all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

The prophet is a watchman over Israel for my God, yet traps are laid for him wherever he goes. He faces hostility even in the house of God.

Ephraim was a watchman with my God, a prophet; Yet the snare of a bird catcher is in all his ways, And there is only hostility in the house of his God.

Hear this, priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, royal house! For the judgment applies to you because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread out on Tabor.

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the house of Israel. When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.

Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the LORD.

Then Elisha said,“ Get some flour.” He threw it into the pot and said,“ Serve it for the people to eat.” And there was nothing bad in the pot.

One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha,“ Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the LORD. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.”Elisha asked her,“ What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said,“ Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”Then he said,“ Go out and borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Do not get just a few.Then go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all these containers. Set the full ones to one side.”So she left. After she had shut the door behind her and her sons, they kept bringing her containers, and she kept pouring.When they were full, she said to her son,“ Bring me another container.” But he replied,“ There aren’t any more.” Then the oil stopped.She went and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons can live on the rest.”

Then the captain, the king’s right-hand man, responded to the man of God,“ Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” Elisha announced,“ You will in fact see it with your own eyes, but you won’t eat any of it.”

Elisha went out to the spring, threw salt in it, and said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ I have healed this water. No longer will death or unfruitfulness result from it.’”

Now, bring me a musician.” While the musician played, the LORD’s hand came on Elisha.Then he said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Dig ditch after ditch in this wadi.’For the LORD says,‘ You will not see wind or rain, but the wadi will be filled with water, and you will drink— you and your cattle and your animals.’This is easy in the LORD’s sight. He will also hand Moab over to you.Then you will attack every fortified city and every choice city. You will cut down every good tree and stop up every spring. You will ruin every good piece of land with stones.”About the time for the grain offering the next morning, water suddenly came from the direction of Edom and filled the land.

“ As for you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, since they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

So Naaman went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, according to the command of the man of God. Then his skin was restored and became like the skin of a small boy, and he was clean.

And I replied,“ Oh no, Lord GOD! The prophets are telling them,‘ You won’t see sword or suffer famine. I will certainly give you lasting peace in this place.’”

I appointed watchmen over you and said,“ Listen for the sound of the ram’s horn.” But they protested,“ We won’t listen!”

For there will be a day when watchmen will call out in the hill country of Ephraim,“ Come, let’s go up to Zion, to the LORD our God!”

But Elisha’s attendant asked,“ What? Am I to set this before a hundred men?”“ Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said,“ for this is what the LORD says:‘ They will eat, and they will have some left over.’”

Yet it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, who shed the blood of the righteous within her.

But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return safely, the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

this captain had answered the man of God,“ Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?” Elisha had said,“ You will in fact see it with your own eyes, but you won’t eat any of it.”

Therefore, Naaman’s skin disease will cling to you and your descendants forever.” So Gehazi went out from his presence diseased, resembling snow.

So he went in, closed the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the LORD.Then he went up and lay on the boy: he put mouth to mouth, eye to eye, hand to hand. While he bent down over him, the boy’s flesh became warm.Elisha got up, went into the house, and paced back and forth. Then he went up and bent down over him again. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.Elisha called Gehazi and said,“ Call the Shunammite woman.” He called her and she came. Then Elisha said,“ Pick up your son.”She came, fell at his feet, and bowed to the ground; she picked up her son and left.

If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

He took the mantle Elijah had dropped, and he struck the water.“ Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” he asked. He struck the water himself, and it parted to the right and the left, and Elisha crossed over.

They have treated my people’s brokenness superficially, claiming,“ Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.

“ The LORD asked him,‘ How?’“ He said,‘ I will go and become a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’“ Then he said,‘ You will certainly entice him and prevail. Go and do that.’

The guards who go about the city found me. I asked them,“ Have you seen the one I love?”

Then Elisha prayed,“ LORD, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.When the Arameans came against him, Elisha prayed to the LORD,“ Please strike this nation with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, according to Elisha’s word.

Your prophets saw visions for you that were empty and deceptive; they did not reveal your iniquity and so restore your fortunes. They saw pronouncements for you that were empty and misleading.

Once, as the Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a raiding party, so they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. When he touched Elisha’s bones, the man revived and stood up!

The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is worse than a hedge of thorns. The day of your watchmen, the day of your punishment, is coming; at this time their panic is here.

Now summon all Israel to meet me at Mount Carmel, along with the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

After a long time, the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year:“ Go and present yourself to Ahab. I will send rain on the surface of the land.”

At the time for offering the evening sacrifice, the prophet Elijah approached the altar and said,“ LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that you are God in Israel and I am your servant, and that at your word I have done all these things.Answer me, LORD! Answer me so that this people will know that you, the LORD, are God and that you have turned their hearts back.”Then the LORD’s fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said,“ The LORD, he is God! The LORD, he is God!”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab,“ As the LORD God of Israel lives, in whose presence I stand, there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!”

Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made iron horns and said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ You will gore the Arameans with these until they are finished off.’”

But if by my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, about four hundred men, and asked them,“ Should I go against Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?” They replied,“ March up, and the Lord will hand it over to the king.”
