My God will reject them because they have not obeyed him; they will be wanderers among the nations.

My God will turn his back on his people. They have not obeyed him. So they will wander among other nations.

My God will reject the people of Israel because they will not listen or obey. They will be wanderers, homeless among the nations.

The LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of wood and stone.Among those nations you will have no rest nor will there be a place of peaceful rest for the soles of your feet, for there the LORD will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a spirit of despair.

“ But they refused to pay attention, turning away stubbornly and stopping their ears so they could not hear.Indeed, they made their heart as hard as diamond, so that they could not obey the Torah and the other words the LORD who rules over all had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, the LORD who rules over all had poured out great wrath.“‘ It then came about that just as I cried out, but they would not obey, so they will cry out, but I will not listen,’ the LORD LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL had said.‘ Rather, I will sweep them away in a storm into all the nations they are not familiar with.’ Thus the land had become desolate because of them, with no one crossing through or returning, for they had made the fruitful land a waste.”

If only you had obeyed my commandments, prosperity would have flowed to you like a river, deliverance would have come to you like the waves of the sea.

But I will keep watching for the LORD; I will wait for the God who delivers me. My God will hear my lament.

“ Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets called out, saying,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn now from your evil wickedness,”’ but they would by no means obey me,” says the LORD.

Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people.’

They will eat, but not be satisfied; they will engage in prostitution, but not increase in numbers; because they have abandoned the LORD by pursuing other gods.

“ For look, I am giving a command and I will shake the family of Israel together with all the nations. It will resemble a sieve being shaken, when not even a pebble falls to the ground.

Tell them that the LORD says,‘ You must obey me! You must live according to the way I have instructed you in my laws.You must pay attention to the exhortations of my servants the prophets. I have sent them to you over and over again. But you have not paid any attention to them.If you do not obey me, then I will do to this temple what I did to Shiloh. And I will make this city an example to be used in curses by people from all the nations on the earth.’”

I sent all my servants the prophets to warn you over and over again. They said,“ Every one of you, stop doing the evil things you have been doing and do what is right. Do not pay allegiance to other gods and worship them. Then you can continue to live in this land that I gave to you and your ancestors.” But you did not pay any attention or listen to me.Yes, the descendants of Jonadab son of Rechab have carried out the orders that their ancestor gave them. But you people have not obeyed me!So I, the LORD, the God who rules over all, the God of Israel, say:“ I will soon bring on Judah and all the citizens of Jerusalem all the disaster that I threatened to bring on them. I will do this because I spoke to them but they did not listen. I called out to them but they did not answer.”’”

The one who stiffens his neck after numerous rebukes will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.

But Micaiah said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives, I will say what my God tells me to say!”

But I trust in you, O LORD! I declare,“ You are my God!”

But my people did not obey me; Israel did not submit to me.I gave them over to their stubborn desires; they did what seemed right to them.If only my people would obey me! If only Israel would keep my commands!

“ For the last twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon was ruling in Judah until now, the LORD has been speaking to me. I told you over and over again what he said. But you would not listen.Over and over again the LORD has sent his servants the prophets to you. But you have not listened or paid attention.

Please remember me for good, O my God, for all that I have done for this people.

But they did not pay attention and were as stubborn as their ancestors, who had not trusted the LORD their God.They rejected his rules, the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and the laws he had commanded them to obey. They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to the LORD. They copied the practices of the surrounding nations in blatant disregard of the LORD’s command.They abandoned all the commandments of the LORD their God; they made two metal calves and an Asherah pole, bowed down to all the stars in the sky, and worshiped Baal.They passed their sons and daughters through the fire, and practiced divination and omen reading. They committed themselves to doing evil in the sight of the LORD and made him angry.So the LORD was furious with Israel and rejected them; only the tribe of Judah was left.Judah also failed to keep the commandments of the LORD their God; they followed Israel’s example.So the LORD rejected all of Israel’s descendants; he humiliated them and handed them over to robbers, until he had thrown them from his presence.

“ I said,‘ I want to cut them in pieces. I want to make people forget they ever existed.

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his warnings, and ridiculed his prophets. Finally the LORD got very angry at his people and there was no one who could prevent his judgment.

The LORD will attack Israel, making it like a reed that sways in the water. He will remove Israel from this good land he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they angered the LORD by making Asherah poles.He will hand Israel over to their enemies because of the sins which Jeroboam committed and which he made Israel commit.”

So Isaiah replied,“ Pay attention, family of David. Do you consider it too insignificant to try the patience of men? Is that why you are also trying the patience of my God?

Thomas replied to him,“ My Lord and my God!”

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

He said,“ What do you see, Amos?” I replied,“ A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me,“ The end has come for my people Israel! I will no longer overlook their sins.
