Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring.”

以法莲人的荣耀要如鸟飞逝，你们将不能受孕，不能怀胎，也不能生育。你们纵然把孩子养大，我也要夺去他们的性命，一个也不留。我撇弃你们的时候，你们就有祸了！我看见以法莲栽种在草原上，美如泰尔，但以法莲却要把孩子交给屠杀者。”

‘你告诉以色列人，我要使我的圣所，就是你们引以为傲、眼中所爱、心里所慕的受到亵渎。你们留下的儿女必死于刀下。

他们种的是风，收的是暴风。他们的庄稼长不出穗子，结不出籽粒，就是有收成，也要被外族人吃掉。

他们像草一样刚被栽上，刚被种上，刚在土里扎根，上帝一口气吹来，便都枯干了，暴风将他们像禾秸一样吹去。

“万军之耶和华说，‘那日要来临了，就像烧红的火炉，所有狂妄自大、作恶多端的人都要像碎秸一样被火烧尽，连根带枝，荡然无存。

他下面的根茎枯干，上面的枝子枯萎。

他们的根必朽烂，花朵如飞尘飘落，就像火焰吞灭禾秸，烧尽干草，因为他们厌弃以色列之圣者的训诲，藐视万军之耶和华的言语。

以法莲因甘愿追随偶像而受欺压，被审判压碎。
