耶和華不輕易發怒，大有能力，但耶和華萬不以有罪的為無罪。他的道路在旋風和暴風之中，雲彩為他腳下的塵土。

外邦人消耗他的力量，他卻不知道；頭髮斑白，他也不覺得。

看哪，耶和華必在火中降臨，他的戰車宛如暴風，以烈怒施行報應，以火焰施行責罰；

這是一件令人憂傷的禍患。他來的時候怎樣，去的時候也必怎樣。他為風勞碌有甚麼益處呢？

因此，我要在收割的日子收回我的五穀，在當令的季節收回我的新酒，我要奪回她用以遮體的羊毛和麻。

你地所產的和你勞力所得的，必被你所不認識的百姓吃盡。你天天只被欺負，受壓制，

你們要為自己栽種公義，收割慈愛。你們要開墾荒地，現今正是尋求耶和華的時候；等他臨到，公義必如雨降給你們。你們耕種奸惡，收割罪孽，吃的是謊言的果實。因你倚靠自己的行為，仰賴你眾多的勇士，

栽種的日子，你使它生長，栽種的早晨，你使它開花，但在愁苦、極其傷痛的日子，所收割的都歸無有。

亞述王普勒來攻擊這地，米拿現給他一千他連得銀子，為了請普勒幫助他鞏固他所掌握的國度。

他們種的是麥子，收的卻是荊棘；辛辛苦苦卻無收穫。因耶和華的烈怒，你們必為自己的收成感到羞愧。

每當以色列人撒種之後，米甸、亞瑪力和東邊的人都上來攻打他們，對着他們安營，毀壞那地的農作物，直到迦薩，沒有給以色列留下食物，牛、羊、驢也沒有留下。因為那些人帶着他們的牲畜和帳棚上來，像蝗蟲那樣多；人和駱駝無數，都進入境內，毀壞全地。以色列因米甸的緣故極其窮乏，以色列人就呼求耶和華。

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。
