不要自欺，神是輕慢不得的。人種的是甚麼，收的也是甚麼。

按我所見，耕罪孽、種毒害的人都照樣收割。

耶和華不輕易發怒，大有能力，萬不以有罪的為無罪。他乘旋風和暴風而來，雲彩為他腳下的塵土。

外邦人吞吃他勞力得來的，他卻不知道；頭髮斑白，他也不覺得。

看哪，耶和華必在火中降臨；他的車輦像旋風，以烈怒施行報應，以火焰施行責罰；

他來的情形怎樣，他去的情形也怎樣。這也是一宗大禍患。他為風勞碌有甚麼益處呢？

因此到了收割的日子，出酒的時候，我必將我的五穀、新酒收回，也必將她應當遮體的羊毛和麻奪回來。

你的土產和你勞碌得來的，必被你所不認識的國民吃盡。你時常被欺負，受壓制，

你們要為自己栽種公義，就能收割慈愛。現今正是尋求耶和華的時候；你們要開墾荒地，等他臨到，使公義如雨降在你們身上。你們耕種的是奸惡，收割的是罪孽，吃的是謊話的果子。因你倚靠自己的行為，仰賴勇士眾多，

栽種的日子，你周圍圈上籬笆，又到早晨使你所種的開花；但在愁苦極其傷痛的日子，所收割的都飛去了。

亞述王普勒來攻擊以色列國，米拿現給他一千他連得銀子，請普勒幫助他堅定國位。

他們種的是麥子，收的是荊棘；勞勞苦苦卻毫無益處。因耶和華的烈怒，你們必為自己的土產羞愧。

以色列人每逢撒種之後，米甸人、亞瑪力人，和東方人都上來攻打他們，對着他們安營，毀壞土產，直到迦薩，沒有給以色列人留下食物，牛、羊、驢也沒有留下；因為那些人帶着牲畜帳棚來，像蝗蟲那樣多，人和駱駝無數，都進入國內，毀壞全地。以色列人因米甸人的緣故，極其窮乏，就呼求耶和華。

以色列王比加年間，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪了以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利，和拿弗他利全地，將這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。
