Israel has forgotten their Maker and built palaces; Judah has fortified many towns. But I will send fire on their cities that will consume their fortresses.”

犹大毫无防卫之力。那时，你们依靠藏在林宫里的兵器。你们看见大卫城破口累累，你们储存下池的水，数点耶路撒冷城的房屋，把房屋拆掉修补城墙。又在两道城墙之间建造新的蓄水池，用来盛旧池的水。耶和华从古时已定了这一切，要使这一切发生，但你们既不仰望祂，也不理会祂。

所以，我要降火在提幔，烧毁波斯拉的城堡。”

我们是上帝的杰作，是在基督耶稣里创造的，为要叫我们做祂预先安排给我们的美善之事。

少女会忘记她的首饰吗？新娘会忘记她的礼服吗？我的子民却早已把我抛诸脑后。

他不但步尼八的儿子耶罗波安的后尘，还娶了西顿王叶巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，供奉、祭拜巴力。

所以，祂把烈怒和战火倾倒在他们身上。他们被火包围，却不明白；被烈火焚身，却不在乎。

他们彼此传讲所做的梦，想借此使我的子民忘记我，正如他们的祖先因祭拜巴力而忘记了我。

他们忘记了拯救他们的上帝，祂曾在埃及行奇事，

所以，我要降火在泰尔的城墙上，烧毁它的城堡。”

又在旷野建造瞭望塔，挖了许多水井，因为他在高原和平原有很多牲畜。他雇人在山区和沃野为他耕种和照料葡萄园，因为他喜爱农耕。

他还在犹大山区建造城邑，在树林中建造营寨和瞭望塔。

耶罗波安又在高岗上修建神庙，任命各样的人做祭司，他们并非利未人。
