In my law I wrote down many things for their good. But they considered those things as something strange.

我为他写了律法万条，他却以为与他毫无关涉。

我为他写了许多条律法，他却以为与他毫无关系。

我为他写了许多条律法，他却以为与他毫无关系。

我为他写下千万条的律法，他却视若无睹。

我虽然为他们写了律法万条，他们却看作是为外族人写的，与他们毫无关系一般。

我為他寫了律法萬條，他卻以為與他毫無關涉。

我為他寫了許多條律法，他卻以為與他毫無關係。

我為他寫了許多條律法，他卻以為與他毫無關係。

我為他寫下千萬條的律法，他卻視若無睹。

我雖然為他們寫了律法萬條，他們卻看作是為外族人寫的，與他們毫無關係一般。

就使我為他寫了我的律法千萬條，他還是要看為外族人的事呀。

我為彼書律萬言、彼視為與己無涉、

我之經綸、載於律例、以指示之、彼反以為無與於己、

我為彼書我要例、要例或作多例彼反以為與己無與、

I wrote for them the many things of my law, but they regarded them as something foreign.

Were I to write for him my laws by the ten thousands, they would be regarded as a strange thing.

Even though I gave them all my laws, they act as if those laws don’t apply to them.

Though I were to write out for him ten thousand points of my instruction, they would be regarded as something strange.

Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My Law, They are regarded as a strange thing.

I have written for him the great things of My law, But they were considered a strange thing.

My people are destroyed because they do not know me.“ You priests have refused to obey me. So I will refuse to accept you as my priests. You have not paid any attention to my law. So I will not let your children be my priests.

The Lord tells the people of Judah,“ Stand where the roads cross, and look around. Ask where the old paths are. Ask for the good path, and walk on it. Then your hearts will find rest in me. But you said,‘ We won’t walk on it.’I appointed prophets to warn you. I said,‘ Listen to the sound of the trumpets!’ But you said,‘ We won’t listen.’

They refused to obey his rules. They broke the covenant he had made with them. They didn’t pay any attention to the rules he had warned them to keep. They worshiped worthless statues of gods. Then they themselves became worthless. They followed the example of the nations around them. They did it even though the Lord had ordered them not to. He had said,“ Do not do as they do.”They turned away from all the commands of the Lord their God. They made two statues of gods for themselves. The statues were shaped like calves. They made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. They bowed down to all the stars. And they worshiped the god named Baal.

I have written 30 sayings for you. They will give you knowledge and good advice.

Be careful to keep them. That will show the nations how wise and understanding you are. They will hear about all these rules. They’ll say,“ That great nation certainly has wise and understanding people.”The Lord our God is near us every time we pray to him. What other nation is great enough to have its gods that close to them?I’m giving you the laws of the Lord today. What other nation is great enough to have rules and laws as fair as these?

“ But they didn’t obey you. Instead, they turned against you. They turned their backs on your law. They killed your prophets. The prophets had warned them to return to you. But they did very evil things that dishonored you.

So the law is holy. The commandment also is holy and right and good.

He has made his word known to the people of Jacob. He has made his laws and rules known to Israel.He hasn’t done that for any other nation. They don’t know his laws. Praise the Lord.

Is there any advantage in being a Jew? Is there any value in being circumcised?

“ You came down on Mount Sinai. From heaven you spoke to our people. You gave them rules and laws. Those laws are right and fair. You gave them orders and commands that are good.You taught them about your holy Sabbath day. You gave them commands, orders and laws. You did it through your servant Moses.

You hate my teaching. You turn your back on what I say.

I gave them my rules. I made my laws known to them. The person who obeys them will live by them.

That’s because these people of Judah refuse to obey me. They are children who tell lies. They will not listen to what I want to teach them.
