Foreigners sap his strength, but he does not realize it. His hair is sprinkled with gray, but he does not notice.

People from other lands make them weaker and weaker. But they don’t realize it. Their hair is becoming gray. But they don’t even notice it.

Strangers devour his strength, and he knows it not; gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, and he knows it not.

义人死亡，无人放在心上；虔诚人被收去，无人思念。这义人被收去是免了将来的祸患；

你们的地土已经荒凉；你们的城邑被火焚毁。你们的田地在你们眼前为外邦人所侵吞，既被外邦人倾覆就成为荒凉。

但这百姓是被抢被夺的，都牢笼在坑中，隐藏在狱里；他们作掠物，无人拯救，作掳物，无人说交还。你们中间谁肯侧耳听此，谁肯留心而听，以防将来呢？谁将雅各交出当作掳物，将以色列交给抢夺的呢？岂不是耶和华吗？就是我们所得罪的那位。他们不肯遵行他的道，也不听从他的训诲。所以，他将猛烈的怒气和争战的勇力倾倒在以色列的身上。在他四围如火着起，他还不知道，烧着他，他也不介意。

于是，耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，将他们屡次交在亚兰王哈薛和他儿子便哈达的手里。约哈斯恳求耶和华，耶和华就应允他，因为见以色列人所受亚兰王的欺压。耶和华赐给以色列人一位拯救者，使他们脱离亚兰人的手；于是以色列人仍旧安居在家里。然而，他们不离开耶罗波安家使以色列人陷在罪里的那罪，仍然去行，并且在撒玛利亚留下亚舍拉。亚兰王灭绝约哈斯的民，践踏他们如禾场上的尘沙，只给约哈斯留下五十马兵，十辆战车，一万步兵。

亚述王普勒来攻击以色列国，米拿现给他一千他连得银子，请普勒帮助他坚定国位。

约哈斯年间，亚兰王哈薛屡次欺压以色列人。
