彼雖回轉、然不向上、有若偏反之弓、其牧伯口出狂言、必仆於刃、在埃及地為人姍笑、

彼所歸誠者、非至上之主、如弦絕弓反、口出妄言、諸牧伯亡於鋒刃、為埃及人姍笑。

彼所歸誠者、非至上之主、彼如已翻之弓、其侯伯殞亡於刃、因其口出狂言、必因此為伊及國之人所姍笑、

They do not turn to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent words. For this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt.

I am the Most High God. But they do not turn to me. They are like a bow that does not shoot straight. Their leaders will be killed by swords. They will die because they have spoken too proudly. The people of Egypt will make fun of them.”

They return, but not upward; they are like a treacherous bow; their princes shall fall by the sword because of the insolence of their tongue. This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They look everywhere except to the Most High. They are as useless as a crooked bow. Their leaders will be killed by their enemies because of their insolence toward me. Then the people of Egypt will laugh at them.

They turn, but not to what is above; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent tongue. They will be ridiculed for this in the land of Egypt.

They turn, but not upward, They are like a loose bow; Their officials will fall by the sword Because of the insolence of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They return, but not to the Most High; They are like a treacherous bow. Their princes shall fall by the sword For the cursings of their tongue. This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They return, but not to him that is on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They turn, but not to what is above; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of the cursing of their tongue. They will be ridiculed for this in the land of Egypt.

They return,[ but] not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this[ shall be] their derision in the land of Egypt.

They turn to Baal; they are like an unreliable bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because their prayers to Baal have made me angry. So people will disdain them in the land of Egypt.

反倒退後而背信、像他們祖宗一樣；他們變了，如同乖張的弓一般。

他們必不得住永恆主之地；以法蓮必回埃及去，必在亞述喫不潔淨之物。

他們肆口褻瀆上天，他們的舌頭游擊了全地。

主永恆主這麼說：『你必喝你姐姐所喝的杯；那又深又廣闊，盛得很多的杯；你必成了給人笑話而嗤笑的對象。

因為你看，他們雖往亞述去，埃及卻要把他們收拾掉；孟斐斯人必埋葬他們；他們的銀製寶物蕁麻必佔據；他們帳棚中必生長荊棘。

他們曾說：『我們必能以舌頭取勝；我們的嘴脣是我們自己的；誰能作我們的主呢？』

雖有這一切事，奸詐的猶大還不一心轉回來歸於我，不過是假意而已：這是永恆主發神諭說的。』

『污靈從人裏面出來，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇，卻尋不着；就說：「我要回到我所由出的屋裏去。」他來到，見已打掃乾淨，修飾齊整。便去，另外帶了七個比自己更邪惡的靈來，進去，住在那裏；那人末後的景況比先前的更壞了。』

我告訴你們，凡人所說的各句閒話、當審判的日子、都必須供明。

我躺臥於獅子中間，就是一些氣燄能吞人的：他們的牙齒是矛、是箭；他們的舌頭是快刀。

因為耶路撒冷敗落，猶大仆倒、是因他們的口舌和行為都跟永恆主作對，挑激了他威榮之眼目。

他們的心不堅定的向着他，他們對他的約總不忠實。

我的人民偏要背道離開我；故此他們被派去負軛，沒有人能給除去。

以法蓮哪，我可怎樣評斷你呢？猶大啊，我可怎樣評定你呢？你們的堅貞就如早晨的雲霧，又如早散的朝露。

（因所看所聽的、其正義之心天天因罪人的不法行為而受苦痛）——

他們有禍啊！因他們飄離了我；他們必遭毁滅哦！因他們背叛了我。我，我雖要贖救他們，他們卻說謊言來敵對我。

獻給我的祭物、他們儘管宰獻呀，祭肉他們儘管喫呀，永恆主總是不喜悅他們的。如今呢、他必定記起他們的罪孽，而察罰他們的罪；他們必回埃及去。以色列忘記了造他的主，而建造宮殿；猶大加多了堡壘城；我卻要降火於他的城市，燒燬他的宮堡。

他們到了所去的任何列國，總使我的聖名被褻瀆，因為人們總是談論他們說：「這些人是耶和華的人民，卻又不能不從耶和華之地出來！」

他們就說：『來吧，我們來設計謀害耶利米；因為祭司有禮節規矩，智慧人有謀略，神言人有話語，都不能斷絕掉。來吧，我們用口舌攻擊他，他的甚麼話、我們都別理它。』

那時有說誇大和褻瀆話的口給了獸，也有權柄給了牠、可以行事四十二個月。

那些在磐石上的、是人聽了道、就歡歡喜喜地接受；這些沒有根，是暫時相信的；在受試煉時就背棄了。

舌頭也是這樣。舌頭是個小肢體，竟能誇說大事呢。你看，多麼小的火能點𤏲多麼大堆的樹林木料啊！

行詭詐的人哪，你終日圖謀着毁滅；你的舌頭就像磨快的剃刀。
