彼所歸誠者、非至上之主、如弦絕弓反、口出妄言、諸牧伯亡於鋒刃、為埃及人姍笑。

They do not turn to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent words. For this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt.

I am the Most High God. But they do not turn to me. They are like a bow that does not shoot straight. Their leaders will be killed by swords. They will die because they have spoken too proudly. The people of Egypt will make fun of them.”

They return, but not upward; they are like a treacherous bow; their princes shall fall by the sword because of the insolence of their tongue. This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They look everywhere except to the Most High. They are as useless as a crooked bow. Their leaders will be killed by their enemies because of their insolence toward me. Then the people of Egypt will laugh at them.

They turn to Baal; they are like an unreliable bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because their prayers to Baal have made me angry. So people will disdain them in the land of Egypt.

反倒退後，行詭詐，像他們的祖宗一樣；他們改變，如同翻背的弓。

主耶和華如此說：你必喝你姊姊所喝的杯；那杯又深又廣，盛得甚多，使你被人嗤笑譏刺。

看哪，他們逃避災難；埃及人必收殮他們的屍首，摩弗人必葬埋他們的骸骨。他們用銀子做的美物上必長蒺藜；他們的帳棚中必生荊棘。

他們曾說：我們必能以舌頭得勝；我們的嘴唇是我們自己的，誰能作我們的主呢？

雖有這一切的事，她奸詐的妹妹猶大還不一心歸向我，不過是假意歸我。這是耶和華說的。」

「污鬼離了人身，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇之處；既尋不着，便說：『我要回到我所出來的屋裏去。』到了，就看見裏面打掃乾淨，修飾好了，便去另帶了七個比自己更惡的鬼來，都進去住在那裏。那人末後的景況比先前更不好了。」

我又告訴你們，凡人所說的閒話，當審判的日子，必要句句供出來；

我的性命在獅子中間；我躺臥在性如烈火的世人當中。他們的牙齒是槍、箭；他們的舌頭是快刀。

耶路撒冷敗落，猶大傾倒；因為他們的舌頭和行為與耶和華反對，惹了他榮光的眼目。

因他們的心向他不正，在他的約上也不忠心。

我的民偏要背道離開我；眾先知雖然招呼他們歸向至上的主，卻無人尊崇主。

主說：以法蓮哪，我可向你怎樣行呢？猶大啊，我可向你怎樣做呢？因為你們的良善如同早晨的雲霧，又如速散的甘露。

因為那義人住在他們中間，看見聽見他們不法的事，他的義心就天天傷痛。）

他們因離棄我，必定有禍；因違背我，必被毀滅。我雖要救贖他們，他們卻向我說謊。

至於獻給我的祭物，他們自食其肉，耶和華卻不悅納他們。現在必記念他們的罪孽，追討他們的罪惡；他們必歸回埃及。以色列忘記造他的主，建造宮殿；猶大多造堅固城，我卻要降火焚燒他的城邑，燒滅其中的宮殿。

他們到了所去的列國，就使我的聖名被褻瀆；因為人談論他們說，這是耶和華的民，是從耶和華的地出來的。

他們就說：「來吧！我們可以設計謀害耶利米；因為我們有祭司講律法，智慧人設謀略，先知說預言，都不能斷絕。來吧！我們可以用舌頭擊打他，不要理會他的一切話。」

又賜給牠說誇大褻瀆話的口，又有權柄賜給牠，可以任意而行四十二個月。

那些在磐石上的，就是人聽道，歡喜領受，但心中沒有根，不過暫時相信，及至遇見試煉就退後了。

這樣，舌頭在百體裏也是最小的，卻能說大話。看哪，最小的火能點着最大的樹林。

你的舌頭邪惡詭詐，好像剃頭刀，快利傷人。
