Woe to them, because they have strayed from me! Destruction to them, because they have rebelled against me! I long to redeem them but they speak about me falsely.

How terrible it will be for them! They have wandered away from me. So they will be destroyed. That’s because they have refused to obey me. I long to save them. But they tell lies about me.

“ What sorrow awaits those who have deserted me! Let them die, for they have rebelled against me. I wanted to redeem them, but they have told lies about me.

Woe to them, for they fled from me; destruction to them, for they rebelled against me! Though I want to redeem them, they speak lies against me.

“ Woe to them, for they have fled from Me! Destruction to them, Because they have transgressed against Me! Though I redeemed them, Yet they have spoken lies against Me.

Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have trespassed against me: though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

Woe to them, for they fled from Me; destruction to them, for they rebelled against Me! Though I want to redeem them, they speak lies against Me.

Even if they bring up children, I will bereave them till none is left. Woe to them when I depart from them!

Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit, but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.

Thus says the Lord concerning this people:“ They have loved to wander thus; they have not restrained their feet; therefore the Lord does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins.”

The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel:“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

“ And after all your wickedness( woe, woe to you! declares the Lord God),

For he said,“ Surely they are my people, children who will not deal falsely.” And he became their Savior.

transgressing, and denying the Lord, and turning back from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words.

“ Yet you say,‘ The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore I command you this today.

They say to God,‘ Depart from us! We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we pray to him?’

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

“ What do you mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel,‘ The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?

“ Your words have been hard against me, says the Lord. But you say,‘ How have we spoken against you?’You have said,‘ It is vain to serve God. What is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the Lord of hosts?And now we call the arrogant blessed. Evildoers not only prosper but they put God to the test and they escape.’”

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from troubleand gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

They said to God,‘ Depart from us,’ and‘ What can the Almighty do to us?’

The more they were called, the more they went away; they kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning offerings to idols.

But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.But since we left off making offerings to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.”

My God will reject them because they have not listened to him; they shall be wanderers among the nations.

Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

By their evil they make the king glad, and the princes by their treachery.

For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

Now, therefore, say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem:‘ Thus says the Lord, Behold, I am shaping disaster against you and devising a plan against you. Return, every one from his evil way, and amend your ways and your deeds.’“ But they say,‘ That is in vain! We will follow our own plans, and will every one act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.’

knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy.

that you have gone astray at the cost of your lives. For you sent me to the Lord your God, saying,‘ Pray for us to the Lord our God, and whatever the Lord our God says, declare to us and we will do it.’

Then the men were exceedingly afraid and said to him,“ What is this that you have done!” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.

when I would heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim is revealed, and the evil deeds of Samaria, for they deal falsely; the thief breaks in, and the bandits raid outside.

They are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand.
