He will not fail you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.

When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying,‘ Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’

With my soul I have desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

For, behold, Yahweh comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to Yahweh and to his blessings in the last days.

Those of you that escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

“‘“ Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

Israel, return to Yahweh your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him,“ Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.Assyria can’t save us. We won’t ride on horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands,‘ Our gods!’ for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”

He said to me,“ Son of man, do you see what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you will again see yet other great abominations.”

Yahweh’s glory went up from the middle of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

It shall happen, when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you,and return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,that then Yahweh your God will release you from captivity, have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you.

yet if they repent in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying,‘ We have sinned, and have done perversely; we have dealt wickedly;’if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;

For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call on God at all times?

I prayed to Yahweh my God, and made confession, and said,“ Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.We haven’t listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.“ Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as it is today; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near, and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him.We haven’t obeyed Yahweh our God’s voice, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, turning aside, that they should not obey your voice.“ Therefore the curse and the oath written in the law of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us; for we have sinned against him.He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky, such has not been done as has been done to Jerusalem.

The children of Israel cried to Yahweh, saying,“ We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.”Yahweh said to the children of Israel,“ Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen. Let them save you in the time of your distress!”The children of Israel said to Yahweh,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”They put away the foreign gods from among them and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

“ Remember, I beg you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying,‘ If you trespass, I will scatter you among the peoples;but if you return to me, and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts were in the uttermost part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause my name to dwell there.’

“ If they sin against you( for there is no man who doesn’t sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to a land far off or near;yet if they come to their senses in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of their captivity, saying,‘ We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have dealt wickedly;’

You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I will give you.There I will meet with you, and I will tell you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the covenant, all that I command you for the children of Israel.

It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled Yahweh’s house,so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for Yahweh’s glory filled Yahweh’s house.Then Solomon said,“ Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”

For, behold, Yahweh comes out of his place, and will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.

They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Yahweh; but they won’t find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.

You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned. We have been in sin for a long time. Shall we be saved?For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.There is no one who calls on your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have consumed us by means of our iniquities.But now, Yahweh, you are our Father. We are the clay and you our potter. We all are the work of your hand.Don’t be furious, Yahweh. Don’t remember iniquity forever. Look and see, we beg you, we are all your people.

He sings before men, and says,‘ I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.

Yahweh’s glory mounted up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of Yahweh’s glory.

“ This is my resting place forever. I will live here, for I have desired it.

Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh comes on you, before the day of Yahweh’s anger comes on you.Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger.

When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.
