Then I will return to my lair until they have borne their guilt and seek my face— in their misery they will earnestly seek me.”

I will go back to my lion’s den. I will stay there until they pay the price for their sin. Then they will turn to me. They will suffer so much that they will really want me to help them.”

I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.

Then I will return to my place until they admit their guilt and turn to me. For as soon as trouble comes, they will earnestly search for me.”

I will depart and return to my place until they recognize their guilt and seek my face; they will search for me in their distress.

LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer[ when] thy chastening[ was] upon them.

When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.And ye shall seek me, and find[ me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find[ him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee,[ even] in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;( For the LORD thy God[ is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;And[ that] I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

Saying to a stock, Thou[ art] my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned[ their] back unto me, and not[ their] face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments[ are] in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that[ were] not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive[ us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands,[ Ye are] our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do?[ even] the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again,[ and] thou shalt see greater abominations.

And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which[ is] on the east side of the city.

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call[ them] to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself[ thus]; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed[ to the yoke]: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou[ art] the LORD my God.Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon[ my] thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.[ Is] Ephraim my dear son?[ is he] a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

[ Yet] if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;And[ so] return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

For what[ is] the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.O Lord, righteousness[ belongeth] unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel,[ that are] near, and[ that are] far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.O Lord, to us[ belongeth] confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.To the Lord our God[ belong] mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that[ is] written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.And the LORD said unto the children of Israel,[ Did] not[ I deliver you] from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying,[ If] ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:But[ if] ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven,[ yet] will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.

If they sin against thee,( for[ there is] no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before[ their] enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;Yet[ if] they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;

And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which[ are] upon the ark of the testimony, of all[ things] which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,

And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy[ place], that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find[ him]; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness,[ those that] remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.But we are all as an unclean[ thing], and all our righteousnesses[ are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.And[ there is] none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.But now, O LORD, thou[ art] our father; we[ are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all[ are] the work of thy hand.Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we[ are] all thy people.

He looketh upon men, and[ if any] say, I have sinned, and perverted[ that which was] right, and it profited me not;

Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub,[ and stood] over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’S glory.

This[ is] my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;Before the decree bring forth,[ before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you.Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he[ was] God.

And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
