For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah. I will tear them to pieces and go away; I will carry them off, with no one to rescue them.

I will be like a lion to Ephraim. I will attack Judah like a powerful lion. I will tear them to pieces. I will drag them off. Then I will leave them. No one will be able to save them.

So I will be like a lion to them; Like a leopard I will lie in wait by the wayside.I will confront them like a bear deprived of her cubs, And I will tear open their chests; I will also devour them there like a lioness, As a wild animal would tear them to pieces.

“ Now consider this, you who forget God, Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be no one to save you.

And should my head be high, You would hunt me like a lion; And You would show Your power against me again.

Refuge will be lost from the swift, And the strong will not strengthen his power, Nor the warrior save his life.

Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no device in it? Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?If a trumpet is blown in a city, will the people not tremble? If a disaster occurs in a city, has the Lord not brought it about?Certainly the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret plan To His servants the prophets.A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can do anything but prophesy?

According to Your knowledge I am indeed not guilty, Yet there is no one to save me from Your hand.

Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat of it; your donkey will be snatched away from you, and will not be restored to you; your sheep will be given to your enemies, and you will have no one to save you.
