以法蓮見自己有病，猶大見自己有傷，以法蓮就打發人到亞述去，差遣人去見那大王，他卻不能醫治你們，不能把你們的傷治好。

“以法莲见自己有病，犹大见自己有伤，他们就打发人往亚述去见耶雷布王，他却不能医治你们，不能治好你们的伤。

以法蓮自知有疾、猶大見己受傷、則以法蓮往亞述、遣人見耶雷布王耶雷布王或作敵國之王求救、而不能醫爾、不能療爾之傷、

“ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sores, then Ephraim turned to Assyria, and sent to the great king for help. But he is not able to cure you, not able to heal your sores.

“ The people of Ephraim saw how sick they were. The people of Judah saw that they were wounded. Then Ephraim turned to Assyria for help. They sent gifts to the great King Tiglath- Pileser. But he is not able to make you well. He can’t heal your wounds.

以法蓮好像鴿子愚蠢無心思：呼求埃及，投奔亞述。

連那東西也必被帶到亞述去，做貢物獻給那大王。以法蓮必得到羞慚，以色列必因他的偶像而慚愧。

以法蓮在喫風，在追趕着熱東風；他終日不斷地加多謊騙和暴戾；同亞述立約，給埃及送油。

因為他們上去投奔亞述，如獨行尋偶的野驢；以法蓮將愛情當禮物賄買人。

亞述王普勒都常來攻打以色列地；米拿現給了普勒一千擔銀子、請普勒一手幫助、來鞏固國權於手中。

『因為永恆主這麼說：你的破爛無法醫治，你受的擊傷很厲害。

你的親愛者都忘記了你，都不來探望你；因為我曾用仇敵加的擊傷擊傷了你，用殘忍者的懲罰懲罰了你，都因你罪孽之眾多、你罪惡之重大、的緣故。你為甚麼因你的破爛而哀呼你痛苦之無法醫治呢？我將這些刑罰施在你身上、都因你罪孽之眾多，你罪惡之重大呀。

亞述不能拯救我們，駿馬我們必不再騎上；我們的手所造的我們必不再稱為「我們的上帝」，因為只有在你裏面孤兒得以找到憐憫。

因為撒瑪利亞的創傷無法醫治，乃是延及猶大，直逼我人民的城門，至於耶路撒冷。

那時候亞哈斯王差遣了人去求亞述王幫助他。因為以東人又來攻擊猶大，擄掠了俘虜。非利士人也侵犯了低原和猶大南方的城市，攻取了伯示麥、亞雅崙、基低羅、梭哥和屬梭哥的鄉鎮、亭納和屬亭納的鄉鎮、瑾鎖和屬瑾鎖的鄉鎮，並住在那裏。

亞述王提革拉毘尼色上到他那裏，卻使他受困迫，並沒有使他得助力。亞哈斯剝取了永恆主殿裏和王宮中跟首領家裏的財物給亞述王，也無濟於事。

當以色列王比加在位的日子、亞述王提革拉毘列色來奪取以雲、亞伯伯瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利、和拿弗他利全地；使這些地方的居民都流亡到亞述去。

亞哈斯差遣了使者去見亞述王提革拉毘列色，說：『我是你的僕人、你的兒子；現在亞蘭王和以色列王起來攻擊我；求你上來拯救我脫離他們的手掌。』
