「祭司啊，要聽！以色列家啊，要留心聽！王室啊，要側耳聽！這是對你們的審判，因為你們像設在米斯巴的圈套，鋪在他泊山的網羅。

祭司啊，你們要聽這話！以色列家啊，你們要留心聽！王的家啊，你們要側耳而聽！因為審判必臨到你們，因你們曾是米斯巴地的捕鳥機，是他泊山上張開的網羅。

祭司歟、爾其聽之、以色列家、爾其聆之、王室爾其傾耳、審鞫有關於爾、因爾為擭於米斯巴、為網於他泊、

祭司與以色列族、及王宗室、群聽我言、爾設坎阱於密士巴、張網羅於大泊山、故我必罰爾、

諸祭司歟、爾其聽此、以色列族歟、爾當悟會、王室歟、爾當傾耳而聽、爾罪已擬、因爾若罟設於米斯巴、若網張於他博山、

“ Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, you Israelites! Listen, royal house! This judgment is against you: You have been a snare at Mizpah, a net spread out on Tabor.

“ Listen to me, you priests! Pay attention, people of Israel! Listen, you members of the royal family! Here is my decision against you. You have been like a trap at Mizpah. You have been like a net spread out on Mount Tabor.

Hear this, O priests! Pay attention, O house of Israel! Give ear, O house of the king! For the judgment is for you; for you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.

“ Hear this, you priests. Pay attention, you leaders of Israel. Listen, you members of the royal family. Judgment has been handed down against you. For you have led the people into a snare by worshiping the idols at Mizpah and Tabor.

Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, you of the house of the king! For the judgment applies to you, Because you have been a trap at Mizpah, And a net spread out on Tabor.

“ Hear this, O priests! Take heed, O house of Israel! Give ear, O house of the king! For yours is the judgment, Because you have been a snare to Mizpah And a net spread on Tabor.

Hear this, O ye priests, and hearken, O house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king; for unto you pertaineth the judgment; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

Hear this, priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, royal house! For the judgment applies to you because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread out on Tabor.

Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment[ is] toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, you Israelites! Listen closely, O king! For judgment is about to overtake you! For you were like a trap to Mizpah, like a net spread out to catch Tabor.

“ Listen to this, you priests! Listen, house of Israel, and give ear, house of the king! For the judgment is against you; for you have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.

Ephraim’s watchman is with my God. Yet the prophet encounters a bird trap on all his pathways. Hostility is in the house of his God!

Like raiders who wait in ambush for someone, a band of priests murders on the road to Shechem. They commit atrocities.

“ Therefore, this decree is for you priests:

Hear the word of the LORD, people of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the inhabitants of the land: There is no truth, no faithful love, and no knowledge of God in the land!

Isaac’s high places will be deserted, and Israel’s sanctuaries will be in ruins; I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with a sword.”

Go tell Jeroboam,‘ This is what the LORD God of Israel says: I raised you up from among the people, appointed you ruler over my people Israel,tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to you. When your feet enter the city, the boy will die.All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He alone out of Jeroboam’s house will be given a proper burial because out of the house of Jeroboam something favorable to the LORD God of Israel was found in him.The LORD will raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will wipe out the house of Jeroboam. This is the day, yes, even today!For the LORD will strike Israel so that they will shake as a reed shakes in water. He will uproot Israel from this good soil that he gave to their ancestors. He will scatter them beyond the Euphrates because they made their Asherah poles, angering the LORD.He will give up Israel because of Jeroboam’s sins that he committed and caused Israel to commit.”

This is what the LORD says:“ Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and announce this word there.You are to say,‘ Hear the word of the LORD, king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David— you, your officers, and your people who enter these gates.This is what the LORD says: Administer justice and righteousness. Rescue the victim of robbery from his oppressor. Don’t exploit or brutalize the resident alien, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.For if you conscientiously carry out this word, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter through the gates of this palace riding on chariots and horses— they, their officers, and their people.But if you do not obey these words, then I swear by myself— this is the LORD’s declaration— that this house will become a ruin.’”For this is what the LORD says concerning the house of the king of Judah:“ You are like Gilead to me, or the summit of Lebanon, but I will certainly turn you into a wilderness, uninhabited cities.I will set apart destroyers against you, each with his weapons. They will cut down the choicest of your cedars and throw them into the fire.“ Many nations will pass by this city and ask one another,‘ Why did the LORD do such a thing to this great city?’They will answer,‘ Because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD their God and bowed in worship to other gods and served them.’”

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me? says the LORD of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.” Yet you ask,“ How have we despised your name?”

Say to the king and the queen mother: Take a humble seat, for your glorious crowns have fallen from your heads.

Faithful people have vanished from the land; there is no one upright among the people. All of them wait in ambush to shed blood; they hunt each other with a net.

I will attack them like a bear robbed of her cubs and tear open the rib cage over their hearts. I will devour them there like a lioness, like a wild beast that would rip them open.

Then I said,“ Now listen, leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Aren’t you supposed to know what is just?

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as my priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your sons.The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against me. I will change their honor into disgrace.

The Chaldeans pull them all up with a hook, catch them in their dragnet, and gather them in their fishing net; that is why they are glad and rejoice.That is why they sacrifice to their dragnet and burn incense to their fishing net, for by these things their portion is rich and their food plentiful.Will they therefore empty their net and continually slaughter nations without mercy?

“ Get up and go to meet King Ahab of Israel, who is in Samaria. He’s in Naboth’s vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it.Tell him,‘ This is what the LORD says: Have you murdered and also taken possession?’ Then tell him,‘ This is what the LORD says: In the place where the dogs licked up Naboth’s blood, the dogs will also lick up your blood!’”Ahab said to Elijah,“ So, my enemy, you’ve found me, have you?” He replied,“ I have found you because you devoted yourself to do what is evil in the LORD’s sight.This is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to bring disaster on you and will eradicate your descendants: I will wipe out all of Ahab’s males, both slave and free, in Israel;I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have angered me and caused Israel to sin.’

As I live— this is the King’s declaration; the LORD of Armies is his name— the king of Babylon will come like Tabor among the mountains and like Carmel by the sea.

Then a letter came to Jehoram from the prophet Elijah, saying: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of King Asa of Judahbut have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves like the house of Ahab prostituted itself, and also have killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you,the LORD is now about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a horrible affliction.You yourself will be struck with many illnesses, including a disease of the intestines, until your intestines come out day after day because of the disease.”

Ephraim’s glory will fly away like a bird: no birth, no pregnancy, no conception.Even if they raise children, I will bereave them of each one. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them!I have seen Ephraim like Tyre, planted in a meadow, so Ephraim will bring out his children to the executioner.Give them, LORD— What should you give? Give them a womb that miscarries and breasts that are dry!All their evil appears at Gilgal, for there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my house because of their evil, wicked actions. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.Ephraim is struck down; their roots are withered; they cannot bear fruit. Even if they bear children, I will kill the precious offspring of their wombs.My God will reject them because they have not listened to him; they will become wanderers among the nations.

So it will be done to you, Bethel, because of your extreme evil. At dawn the king of Israel will be totally destroyed.
