So here is what I will do. I will punish people and priests alike. I will judge them because of their sinful lives. I will pay them back for the evil things they have done.

As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed[ difference] between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.Her princes in the midst thereof[ are] like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood,[ and] to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.And her prophets have daubed them with untempered[ morter], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

They sacrifice flesh[ for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat[ it; but] the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

They have deeply corrupted[ themselves], as in the days of Gibeah:[ therefore] he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery[ ways] in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them,[ even] the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

Say ye to the righteous, that[ it shall be] well[ with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
