晝時庶民殞沒、夕時先知偕亡、京都傾圮、

故爾比晝時顛蹶、夕時先知與爾同蹶、我必滅爾母、

You stumble day and night, and the prophets stumble with you. So I will destroy your mother—

You trip and fall day and night. And the prophets fall down along with you. So I will destroy your nation. She is the one who gave birth to you.

You shall stumble by day; the prophet also shall stumble with you by night; and I will destroy your mother.

So you will stumble in broad daylight, and your false prophets will fall with you in the night. And I will destroy Israel, your mother.

“ Bring charges against your mother, bring charges; For she is not My wife, nor am I her Husband! Let her put away her harlotries from her sight, And her adulteries from between her breasts;

Their widows will be increased to Me more than the sand of the seas; I will bring against them, Against the mother of the young men, A plunderer at noonday; I will cause anguish and terror to fall on them suddenly.

but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.

I dismissed the three shepherds in one month. My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, Nor do they seek the Lord of hosts.Therefore the Lord will cut off head and tail from Israel, Palm branch and bulrush in one day.The elder and honorable, he is the head; The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed.Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.

Your mother shall be deeply ashamed; She who bore you shall be ashamed. Behold, the least of the nations shall be a wilderness, A dry land and a desert.

My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, And like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of the Lord, And because of His holy words.

For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the Lord will answer him by Myself.I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.“ And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired,

“ It shall be in that day,” says the Lord of hosts,“ that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land.

Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets Who make my people stray; Who chant“ Peace” While they chew with their teeth, But who prepare war against him Who puts nothing into their mouths:“ Therefore you shall have night without vision, And you shall have darkness without divination; The sun shall go down on the prophets, And the day shall be dark for them.So the seers shall be ashamed, And the diviners abashed; Indeed they shall all cover their lips; For there is no answer from God.”

“ Prepare war against her; Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us, for the day goes away, For the shadows of the evening are lengthening.Arise, and let us go by night, And let us destroy her palaces.”

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say,‘ sword and famine shall not be in this land’—‘ By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; they will have no one to bury them— them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters— for I will pour their wickedness on them.’

“ My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.“ Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace— and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar—say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down.Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you,‘ Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?’”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it.So I will break down the wall you have plastered with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered; it will fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.“ Thus will I accomplish My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it with untempered mortar; and I will say to you,‘ The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it,that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’” says the Lord God.

“ Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you:‘ Like mother, like daughter!’You are your mother’s daughter, loathing husband and children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children; your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

Thus says the Lord:“ Where is the certificate of your mother’s divorce, Whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? For your iniquities you have sold yourselves, And for your transgressions your mother has been put away.

The days of punishment have come; The days of recompense have come. Israel knows! The prophet is a fool, The spiritual man is insane, Because of the greatness of your iniquity and great enmity.The watchman of Ephraim is with my God; But the prophet is a fowler’s snare in all his ways— Enmity in the house of his God.
