The Israelites are stubborn, like a stubborn heifer. How then can the Lord pasture them like lambs in a meadow?

The people of Israel are stubborn. They are as stubborn as a young cow. So how can I take care of them like lambs in a meadow?

Like a stubborn heifer, Israel is stubborn; can the Lord now feed them like a lamb in a broad pasture?

For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn cow. Can the Lord now shepherd them like a lamb in an open meadow?

「我後悔立掃羅為王了，因為他轉離不跟從我，也不執行我的命令。」撒母耳為此很苦惱，整夜向耶和華哀求。

「到那日，一個人只能養活一頭小母牛和兩隻母羊。因為產的奶很多，他就以乳酪為食；這地上所有剩下的人都將以乳酪和蜂蜜為食。「到那日，所有種過一千棵葡萄樹、值一千塊銀子的地方，都必成為荊棘和蒺藜之地。人到那裡去，就必帶弓和箭，因為遍地都是荊棘和蒺藜。所有被鋤頭翻耕過的山地，你都不會上去，因為你懼怕荊棘和蒺藜；那裡必成為放牛之地、羊群踐踏之處。」

那時，羊羔必來吃草，如同在自己的草場；寄居者也在富有人的廢墟中吃食。
