I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people[ that] doth not understand shall fall.

我卻不因你們女兒的行淫而察罰她們，也不因你們兒媳婦之犯姦淫而懲辦她們；因為宗教領袖們自己也離羣而跟淫婦同居，他們自己也同廟妓行淫而獻祭；無知識的人民準會敗倒的。

爾女行姦、爾媳宣淫、我不罰之、緣爾轉就妓女、而偕淫婦獻祭、無知之民、必致傾覆、

彼與淫婦、同獻祭祀、故其妻女、雖不節不貞、亦不降罰、無道之民、終必淪亡、

爾女不貞、爾媳行淫、我亦不懲罰、蓋彼與妓同居、偕娼獻祭、無知之民、終必淪亡、

“ I will not punish your daughters when they turn to prostitution, nor your daughters- in- law when they commit adultery, because the men themselves consort with harlots and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes— a people without understanding will come to ruin!

“ I will not punish your daughters when they become prostitutes. I will not judge your daughters- in- law when they commit adultery. After all, the men themselves have sex with sinful women. They offer sacrifices where temple prostitutes earn their living. People who can’t understand will be destroyed!

I will not punish your daughters when they play the whore, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for the men themselves go aside with prostitutes and sacrifice with cult prostitutes, and a people without understanding shall come to ruin.

But why should I punish them for their prostitution and adultery? For your men are doing the same thing, sinning with whores and shrine prostitutes. O foolish people! You refuse to understand, so you will be destroyed.

I will not punish your daughters when they act promiscuously or your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery, for the men themselves go off with prostitutes and make sacrifices with cult prostitutes. People without discernment are doomed.

I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, Or your brides when they commit adultery, Because the men themselves slip away with the prostitutes And offer sacrifices with temple prostitutes; So the people without understanding are ruined.

“ I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry, Nor your brides when they commit adultery; For the men themselves go apart with harlots, And offer sacrifices with a ritual harlot. Therefore people who do not understand will be trampled.

I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for the men themselves go apart with harlots, and they sacrifice with the prostitutes; and the people that doth not understand shall be overthrown.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because[ there is] no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Ephraim[ is] joined to idols: let him alone.

And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that[ were] by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Who[ is] wise, and he shall understand these[ things]? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD[ are] right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.And there were also sodomites in the land:[ and] they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

Why do ye not understand my speech?[ even] because ye cannot hear my word.

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see;[ and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.And none considereth in his heart, neither[ is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten[ it]: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say,[ Is there] not a lie in my right hand?

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all[ things].

Yea,[ they are] greedy dogs[ which] can never have enough, and they[ are] shepherds[ that] cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
