你要吃，卻吃不飽，你的肚子仍是空空。你必被挪去，不得逃脫；如有逃脫的，我必交給刀劍。

我要斷絕你們糧食的供應，使十個女人用一個烤爐給你們烤餅，按配給的定量秤給你們。你們要吃，卻吃不飽。

你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；領工錢的，領了工錢卻裝入有破洞的袋中。

以法蓮，他們的榮耀如鳥飛去，必不生產，不懷胎，不成孕；他們縱然將兒女養大，我卻要使他們喪子，一個也不留。我離棄他們，他們就有禍了。我看以法蓮如推羅栽於美地。以法蓮卻要將自己的兒女帶出來，交給行殺戮的人。耶和華啊，求你加給他們，加給他們甚麼呢？要使他們懷孕流產，乳房枯乾。因他們在吉甲的一切惡事，我在那裏憎惡他們。因他們所行的惡，我必把他們趕出我的殿，不再愛他們；他們的領袖都是悖逆的。以法蓮受擊打，其根枯乾，不能結果，即或生產，我也要殺他們所生的愛子。我的上帝必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從他；他們必飄流在列國中。

耶何耶大死後，猶大的眾領袖來叩拜王，那時王就聽了他們。

義人吃喝食慾滿足；惡人肚腹卻是缺乏。

他口中的言語盡是罪孽詭詐，他不再有智慧，也不再行善。

我不因你們的女兒行淫或你們的媳婦犯姦淫懲罰她們；因為人自己轉去與娼妓同居，與神廟娼妓一同獻祭。這無知的百姓必致傾倒。

至於義人，他若轉離義行而作惡，照着惡人所做一切可憎的事去做，豈能存活呢？他所行的一切義都不被記念；反而因所行的惡、所犯的罪死亡。

至於那偏行彎曲道路的人，耶和華必將他們和作惡的人一同驅逐出去。願平安歸於以色列！

所以，主耶和華如此說：「看哪，我的僕人必得吃，你們卻飢餓；看哪，我的僕人必得喝，你們卻乾渴；看哪，我的僕人必歡喜，你們卻蒙羞。看哪，我的僕人因心中喜樂而歡呼，你們卻因心裏悲痛而哀哭，因靈裏憂傷而哀號。你們必留下自己的名給我選民指着賭咒：主耶和華必殺你們，另起別名稱呼他的僕人。在地上為自己求福的，必憑真實的上帝求福；在地上起誓的，必指着真實的上帝起誓。因為從前的患難已被遺忘，從我眼前消逝。」

如今你們回轉，行我眼中看為正的事，各人向鄰舍宣告自由，並且在我面前、在稱為我名下的殿中立約。

現在，眾祭司啊，這誡命是給你們的。萬軍之耶和華說：「你們若不聽，若不放在心上，將榮耀歸給我的名，我就使詛咒臨到你們，使你們的福分變為詛咒；其實我已經詛咒了你們的福分，因你們不把誡命放在心上。看哪，我要斥責你們的後裔，把糞抹在你們臉上，就是你們祭牲的糞。人要把你們和糞一起抬出去，

並那些轉去不跟從耶和華，不尋求耶和華，也不求問他的。」

倘若他們因認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督而得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又被污穢纏住，被制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們知道義路，竟背棄了傳授給他們那神聖的誡命，倒不如不知道為妙。俗語說得好，這話正印證在他們身上了：「狗轉過來吃自己所吐的；」又說：「豬洗淨了，又回到爛泥裏打滾。」
