義人吃飽，心滿意足；惡人腹中，常常缺乏。

他口中的話語充滿奸惡和欺詐，他不再有智慧，也不再行善。

至於那些偏行歪路的人，耶和華必把他們與作惡的人一同除去。願平安臨到以色列！

因此，主耶和華如此說：「看哪，我的僕人們必有吃的，你們卻會挨餓！看哪，我的僕人們必有喝的，你們卻會口渴！看哪，我的僕人們必歡喜，你們卻會蒙羞！看哪，我的僕人們因心中高興而歡呼，你們卻因心中傷痛而呼號、因靈裡破碎而哀號！你們必留下自己的名字，作我選民的詛咒詞。主耶和華必殺死你們；至於我的僕人們，我必用另外的名字稱呼他們。在地上為自己祝福的，必藉著真實的神為自己祝福；在地上起誓的，必指著真實的神起誓；因為先前的患難已被忘記，從我眼前被隱藏了。

萬軍之耶和華說：「祭司們哪！現在，這誡命是給你們的：你們如果不聽從，如果不放在心上，不把榮耀歸於我的名，我就使詛咒臨到你們，我要詛咒你們應得的祝福。事實上，我已經詛咒了，因為你們不把誡命放在心上。」萬軍之耶和華說：「看哪！我要斥責你們的後裔，也要把糞便，就是節期祭牲的糞便塗在你們臉上；人要把你們與糞便一同抬走。

原來，他們如果藉著認識我們的主、救主耶穌基督而逃脫這世界的汙穢，卻又被這些汙穢糾纏、制伏了，那麼，他們最後的情況就比先前更壞了；因為認識了義的道路以後，背離那交託給他們的神聖誡命，對他們來說，倒不如不認識還好。在他們身上正應驗了這真實的俗語：「狗轉身回到自己所吐的東西；豬洗乾淨了又到汙泥中打滾。」
