For she did not know That I gave her grain, new wine, and oil, And multiplied her silver and gold— Which they prepared for Baal.

彼不知所得之五穀、酒、油、與所用以飾巴力之多金多銀、皆我所賜、或作彼不知所得之五穀酒油乃我所賜我多賜之金銀彼反用之以飾巴力

She has not acknowledged that I was the one who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil, who lavished on her the silver and gold— which they used for Baal.

She wouldn’t admit that I was the one who gave her everything she had. I provided her with grain, olive oil and fresh wine. I gave her plenty of silver and gold. But she used it to make statues of Baal.

And she did not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the wine, and the oil, and who lavished on her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has— the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal.

She does not recognize that it is I who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the fresh oil. I lavished silver and gold on her, which they used for Baal.

“ Yet she does not know that it was I myself who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, And lavished on her silver and gold, Which they used for Baal.

For she did not know that I gave her the grain, and the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied unto her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

She does not recognize that it is I who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil. I lavished silver and gold on her, which they used for Baal.

For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold,[ which] they prepared for Baal.

Yet until now she has refused to acknowledge that I was the one who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil; and that it was I who lavished on her the silver and gold– which they used in worshiping Baal!

For she didn’t know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

The ox knows its owner And the donkey its master’s crib; But Israel does not know, My people do not consider.”

“ They set up kings, but not by Me; They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them. From their silver and gold They made idols for themselves— That they might be cut off.

You took some of your garments and adorned multicolored high places for yourself, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be.You have also taken your beautiful jewelry from My gold and My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images and played the harlot with them.You took your embroidered garments and covered them, and you set My oil and My incense before them.Also My food which I gave you— the pastry of fine flour, oil, and honey which I fed you— you set it before them as sweet incense; and so it was,” says the Lord GOD.

Now they sin more and more, And have made for themselves molded images, Idols of their silver, according to their skill; All of it is the work of craftsmen. They say of them,“ Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!”

“ Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart.

Israel empties his vine; He brings forth fruit for himself. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars.

But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well-off, and saw no trouble.But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.”

They lavish gold out of the bag, And weigh silver on the scales; They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; They prostrate themselves, yes, they worship.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them.They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.

And Aaron said to them,“ Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.”So all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said,“ This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.

He also said to His disciples:“ There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.So he called him and said to him,‘ What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’

And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

For their mother has played the harlot; She who conceived them has behaved shamefully. For she said,‘ I will go after my lovers, Who give me my bread and my water, My wool and my linen, My oil and my drink.’

Now there was a man from the mountains of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.And he said to his mother,“ The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, and on which you put a curse, even saying it in my ears— here is the silver with me; I took it.” And his mother said,“ May you be blessed by the Lord, my son!”So when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said,“ I had wholly dedicated the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son, to make a carved image and a molded image; now therefore, I will return it to you.”Thus he returned the silver to his mother. Then his mother took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to the silversmith, and he made it into a carved image and a molded image; and they were in the house of Micah.The man Micah had a shrine, and made an ephod and household idols; and he consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

The new wine fails, the vine languishes, All the merry-hearted sigh.The mirth of the tambourine ceases, The noise of the jubilant ends, The joy of the harp ceases.They shall not drink wine with a song; Strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.

Therefore they sacrifice to their net, And burn incense to their dragnet; Because by them their share is sumptuous And their food plentiful.

So they went out into the fields, and gathered grapes from their vineyards and trod them, and made merry. And they went into the house of their god, and ate and drank, and cursed Abimelech.
