But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.

People of Jacob, you must return to your God. You must hold on to love and do what is fair. You must trust in your God always.

“ So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.Then shall we know,[ if] we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter[ and] former rain unto the earth.

The LORD[ is] good unto them that wait for him, to the soul[ that] seeketh him.[ It is] good that[ a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,[ and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.

But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and[ then] to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

Turn ye unto[ him from] whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit[ it]; neither shall[ that] be done any more.At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.Surely[ as] a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping[ and] supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way,[ and] they have forgotten the LORD their God.Return, ye backsliding children,[ and] I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou[ art] the LORD our God.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.

And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he[ is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Behold, as the eyes of servants[ look] unto the hand of their masters,[ and] as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes[ wait] upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for[ it is] time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination[ is] to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation,[ even] all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew[ their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;[ and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

[ Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD[ is] a God of judgment: blessed[ are] all they that wait for him.
