I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again. For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities.

I will not be so angry with you anymore. I will not completely destroy you again. After all, I am God. I am not a mere man. I am the Holy One among you. I will not direct my anger against their cities.

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of.

I would march upon them, I would burn them together.Or else let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; yea, let him make peace with me.In days to come shall Jacob take root; Israel shall blossom and bud; and they shall fill the face of the world with fruit.Hath he smitten them as he smote those that smote them? or are they slain according to the slaughter of them that were slain by them?In measure, when thou sendest them away, thou dost contend with them; he hath removed them with his rough blast in the day of the east wind.

But he, being merciful, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.
