那些指著撒瑪利亞的罪（“罪”或作“亞示瑪女神”）起誓，或是那些指著但的神，或別是巴的神（“別是巴的神”原文作“別是巴的道”）起誓的，他們要倒下，再不能起來。”

耶和華起來，使大地震動的時候，人必進入石洞，進入土穴，躲避耶和華的驚嚇和他威嚴的榮光。

也為那些在我子民的土地上長起來的荊棘和蒺藜而哀哭，為那歡樂的城和所有快樂的房屋，也是這樣。

這事成為耶羅波安的家的罪，以致他的家從地上被塗抹與除滅。

你們要在基比亞吹角，在拉瑪吹號，在伯．亞文大聲吶喊：“便雅憫啊！敵人就在你背後。”

以色列啊！你雖然行淫，猶大卻不可犯罪，不要往吉甲去，不要上到伯．亞文，也不要指著永活的耶和華起誓。

我把你們的罪，就是你們鑄造的牛犢，拿去用火燒了，又把它搗碎，磨成細粉，像灰塵一樣；我把這灰塵撒在從山上流下來的溪水中。

神人奉耶和華的命令，向那祭壇喊叫，說：“祭壇哪，祭壇哪，耶和華這樣說：‘看哪，大衛家要生一個兒子，名叫約西亞；他要把邱壇的祭司，就是在你上面燒香的，作祭物獻在你上面。人的骨頭也要在你上面焚燒。’”

他把祭司的骨頭燒在他們的祭壇上，這樣就潔淨了猶大和耶路撒冷。他又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬，以至拿弗他利的各城，以及它們周圍荒廢的地方，都這樣行。他拆毀了祭壇，把亞舍拉和雕刻的偶像打碎，破碎了以色列全地所有的香壇，就回耶路撒冷去了。

這都是因為雅各的過犯，以色列家的罪惡。雅各的過犯是甚麼呢？不就是撒瑪利亞嗎？猶大家的罪惡是甚麼呢？不就是耶路撒冷嗎？

這一切都作完了，所有在那裡的以色列人就都出去，到猶大的各城，打碎神柱，砍下亞舍拉；又在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮和瑪拿西各地，把邱壇和祭壇完全拆毀。然後以色列眾人都各回各城，各歸自己的地業去了。

此外，甚至在伯特利的祭壇和那使以色列人陷於罪中的尼八的兒子耶羅波安所做的邱壇，他都拆毀焚燒，壓碎成灰，又把亞舍拉燒了。

以東的宮殿必長荊棘，它的堡壘必長蒺藜和刺草；它要作野狗的住處，作鴕鳥的居所。

他們在山頂上獻祭，在岡陵上的橡樹、楊樹和栗樹之下獻祭燒香，因為樹蔭美好。所以你們的女兒行淫亂，你們的兒媳犯姦淫。

為了耶羅波安所犯的罪，又為了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和華必丟棄以色列人。”

他們心懷詭詐，現在要承擔這罪的懲罰。耶和華必拆毀他們的祭壇，毀壞他們的柱像。

拉吉的居民哪！要用快馬套車，這就是錫安子民（“子民”原文作“女子”）罪惡的開端；因為以色列的過犯，都在你那裡找到了。

撒瑪利亞的居民必因伯．亞文的牛犢而懼怕；拜牛犢的人民必為它哀慟。拜牛犢的祭司必為它哀號，都因它的榮耀離開它而被擄去了。

在那些日子，人要求死，卻決不得死；切願要死，死卻遠離他們。
