“‘ Thus my anger will be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I will be comforted. They will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath on them.

It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.

“ Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says Yahweh,“ and they will fish them up. Afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.

It will happen that as Yahweh rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Yahweh will rejoice over you to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be plucked from the land that you are going in to possess.

‘ Yahweh, the God of Israel says,“ Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will gather them into the middle of this city.

Be in pain, and labor to give birth, daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you will go out of the city, and will dwell in the field, and will come even to Babylon. There you will be rescued. There Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.Now many nations have assembled against you, that say,“ Let her be defiled, and let our eye gloat over Zion.”But they don’t know the thoughts of Yahweh, neither do they understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like the sheaves to the threshing floor.Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion; for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs bronze; and you will beat in pieces many peoples: and I will devote their gain to Yahweh, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth.

therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those who you have loved, with all those who you have hated. I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.Then Yahweh will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

So I will cause my wrath toward you to rest, and my jealousy will depart from you. I will be quiet, and will not be angry any more.

“ For the Lord Yahweh says:‘ I will bring up a mob against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, the Mighty One of Israel, says:“ Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself on my enemies.

“ Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.

But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.

When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

You have rejected me,” says Yahweh.“ You have gone backward. Therefore I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you. I am weary of showing compassion.
