永恆主的話傳與我說：『人子啊，葡萄樹比別樣樹有甚麼強處呢？森林樹木中的葡萄枝比別的樹枝有甚麼好處呢？那上頭有木料可以取來作工具麼？或者人可以從那上頭取橛子來掛甚麼器皿麼？看哪，已拋給火燒燬，火既燒燬了兩頭，中間也給燒焦了，要作工具還有用處麼？看哪，它完整時、尚且不能用作工具，何況火燒燬了它，並且給燒焦了，還能用來作工具麼？

他們在各高岡上、各茂盛樹下築了邱壇，立了崇拜柱子、和亞舍拉神木。

他們立了王，但不是由我立的；他們立了首領，卻不是我承認的。他們用他們的銀子或金子、為自己造了偶像，好讓自己被剪除。

所以我們從今以後不再按人的肉體認識人了；縱使曾按其肉體認識基督，如今卻不再這樣認識他了。

因為眾人都謀求着自己的事，不謀求基督耶穌的事。

但這些人民既得喫了，就喫得飽飫；既得飽飫了，就心高氣傲，因而忘記了我。

她不知道是我給了她五穀、新酒和新油，又增加了金銀給她，她卻用去製造巴力。

以法蓮為自己辯護說：『啊，我居然成了巨富了，我為自己得了貨財了』；但他獲得的利必不足以抵銷他所犯的罪。

如今呢、他們罪越犯越多了，他們為自己造了鑄像，按自己的技巧聰明用他們的銀子造偶像，都是匠人的作品；就說：『向這些偶像獻祭吧！』嘿，人跟牛犢親嘴！

『我是真的葡萄樹，我父是園工。凡在我身上不結果子的枝子，他就除掉；凡結果子的，他就使它潔淨，叫它結果子更多。因我所對你們講的話、你們已經潔淨了。你們要住在我裏面，我就住在你們裏面。正如枝子、若不連在葡萄樹上，憑着自己是不能結果子的；你們若不住在我裏面，也是這樣。我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。住在我裏面、而我住在他裏面的、這種人才能多結果子；因為離了我、你們就不能作甚麼。人若不住在我裏面，便像枝子扔在外面、枯乾了；人收集起來，扔在火裏，就燒掉了。
