惟大司祭一年一度得入閟帷、入必獻牲牷之血、用贖自身及眾民之罪過。

But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

But only the high priest went into the inner room. He went in only once a year. He never entered without taking blood with him. He offered the blood for himself. He also offered it for the sins the people had committed because they didn’t know any better.

and Jehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the mercy- seat which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy- seat.Herewith shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin- offering, and a ram for a burnt- offering.He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with the linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: they are the holy garments; and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and put them on.And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two he- goats for a sin- offering, and one ram for a burnt- offering.And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin- offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house.And he shall take the two goats, and set them before Jehovah at the door of the tent of meeting.And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for Jehovah, and the other lot for Azazel.And Aaron shall present the goat upon which the lot fell for Jehovah, and offer him for a sin- offering.But the goat, on which the lot fell for Azazel, shall be set alive before Jehovah, to make atonement for him, to send him away for Azazel into the wilderness.And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin- offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin- offering which is for himself.And he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Jehovah, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil:and he shall put the incense upon the fire before Jehovah, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy- seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:and he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy- seat on the east; and before the mercy- seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.Then shall he kill the goat of the sin- offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy- seat, and before the mercy- seat:and he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins: and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwelleth with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.And there shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goeth in to make atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.And he shall go out unto the altar that is before Jehovah, and make atonement for it, and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.And when he hath made an end of atoning for the holy place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat:

My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of whoredom hath caused them to err, and they have played the harlot, departing from under their God.

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they that lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

And even these reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

For they that lead this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

And Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel.

who can bear gently with the ignorant and erring, for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity;and by reason thereof is bound, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;

Who can discern his errors? Clear thou me from hidden faults.

And flight shall perish from the swift; and the strong shall not strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself;

Forty years long was I grieved with that generation, And said, It is a people that do err in their heart, And they have not known my ways:

But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance made of sins year by year.

therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
