因為公牛和山羊的血是不能把罪除掉的。

何況基督的血呢？基督藉着永恆的靈、將自己無瑕無疵地獻與上帝，他、的血豈不更能潔淨我們的良知，除去屬死的行為，使我們能事奉永活的上帝麼？

（那種帳幕原是表樣、象徵這現世時期的）；按這制度，所供獻的禮物和祭物都不能使禮拜的人良知上完全潔淨，只是關於飲食和幾樣不同的洗濯、不過是屬肉身的律例、制定着到改正時期為止罷了。但基督來到了、做一位已實現的美事之大祭司、卻通過那較大較完全的帳幕、不是人手造的、就是說、不屬於這被創造之世的、進入天上的聖所，也沒有藉着山羊和牛犢的血，乃藉着自己的血、儘一次地進去，就立得了永世的贖放。

因為基督並不是進了人手造的聖所、真聖所的模型、乃是進了上天本境，如今替我們顯在上帝面前的。

這些祭司呢、是用天上之事的仿本和影像去行事奉禮的，（正如摩西將要造帳幕時得了神諭說：『上帝說，你要謹慎，作各樣物件、都要按在山上指示你的模樣去作』）。

他們直唱新的歌說：『你是配取那書卷、而揭開其印的；因為你曾被屠殺，曾用你的血從各族派各種語言的人、各民族各邦國中、買了人來，歸於上帝；

這一些原是以後之事的影兒，真體乃是屬基督的。

律法所有的既僅僅是將來美好事物的影兒，而不是那些事物的本體，它總不能用人們每年不斷供獻的同樣祭物使上前去敬拜的人完全無罪。

本着這個旨意，藉着耶穌基督儘一次之供獻身體，我們已成為聖別了。再者，所有的祭司、都是天天站着、作事奉的工，屢次供獻同樣的祭物、永不能把罪除掉的祭物。惟獨這一位、卻替罪獻了一次的祭，就永續不斷地坐在上帝的右邊；以後就只期待着、到他的仇敵都被處置做他腳的凳子為止。因為他用一次的供獻、就已使聖別的人永持不變地完全無罪了。聖靈也對我們作證，因為他說：『那些日子以後，主說：我要對他們立的、就是以下這種約：我要頒賜我的律法在他們心上，我要將那些律法寫在他們的心神上』；以後又說：『他們的罪和不法之行為、我決不再記着。』

我若去為你們豫備地方，就必再來接你們歸於我，叫我在哪裏，你們也在哪裏。

基督受這些苦，而進入他的榮耀，豈不是應該的麼？』

又對他們說：『有這樣記着說；基督必須受害，第三天從死人中復起；
