the priest shall order that two live clean birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop be brought for the person to be cleansed.Then the priest shall order that one of the birds be killed over fresh water in a clay pot.He is then to take the live bird and dip it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water.Seven times he shall sprinkle the one to be cleansed of the defiling disease, and then pronounce them clean. After that, he is to release the live bird in the open fields.

“‘ If you offer an animal from the flock as a fellowship offering to the Lord, you are to offer a male or female without defect.

“ Speak to the Israelites and say to them:‘ When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.“‘ If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.

They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,

“‘ If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect.

They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.

The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe

It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning.

And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.

so he will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.

When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them,“ Here is the man!”

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
