then the priest will command that two live clean birds, a piece of cedar wood, a scrap of crimson fabric, and some twigs of hyssop be taken up for the one being cleansed.The priest will then command that one bird be slaughtered into a clay vessel over fresh water.Then he is to take the live bird along with the piece of cedar wood, the scrap of crimson fabric, and the twigs of hyssop, and he is to dip them and the live bird in the blood of the bird slaughtered over the fresh water,and sprinkle it seven times on the one being cleansed from the disease, pronounce him clean, and send the live bird away over the open countryside.

“‘ If his offering for a peace offering sacrifice to the LORD is from the flock, he must present a flawless male or female.

and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does.

“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘ When someone among you presents an offering to the LORD, you must present your offering from the domesticated animals, either from the herd or from the flock.“‘ If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance of the Meeting Tent for its acceptance before the LORD.

I will sprinkle you with pure water and you will be clean from all your impurities. I will purify you from all your idols.

They stripped him and put a scarlet robe around him,

“‘ If his offering is from the flock for a burnt offering– from the sheep or the goats– he must present a flawless male,

They put a purple cloak on him and after braiding a crown of thorns, they put it on him.

The soldiers braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they clothed him in a purple robe.

For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins.

Take a branch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and apply to the top of the doorframe and the two side posts some of the blood that is in the basin. Not one of you is to go out the door of his house until morning.

When they had finished mocking him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes back on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

his form was so marred he no longer looked human– so now he will startle many nations. Kings will be shocked by his exaltation, for they will witness something unannounced to them, and they will understand something they had not heard about.

So Jesus came outside, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them,“ Look, here is the man!”

Sprinkle me with water and I will be pure; wash me and I will be whiter than snow.
