then the priest shall give orders to take two live clean birds, cedar wood, a scarlet string, and hyssop for the one who is to be cleansed.The priest shall also give orders to slaughter the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water.As for the live bird, he shall take it together with the cedar wood, the scarlet string, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the live bird in the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the running water.He shall then sprinkle seven times the one who is to be cleansed from the leprosy and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the live bird go free over the open field.

To cleanse the house then, he shall take two birds, cedar wood, a scarlet string, and hyssop,and he shall slaughter the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water.Then he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet string, with the live bird, and dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird as well as in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.So he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and with the running water, along with the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet string.

But if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord is from the flock, he shall offer it, male or female, without defect.

and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

“ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ When anyone of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or the flock.If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect; he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting, so that he may be accepted before the Lord.

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

And they stripped Him and put a red cloak on Him.

‘ But if his offering is from the flock, either from the sheep or from the goats, as a burnt offering, he shall offer a male without defect.

And they* dressed Him in purple, and after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on Him;

And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and placed it on His head, and put a purple cloak on Him;

For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning.

And after they had mocked Him, they took the purple cloak off Him and put His own garments on Him. And they* led Him out to crucify Him.

So He will sprinkle many nations, Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what they had not been told, they will see, And what they had not heard, they will understand.

Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate* said to them,“ Behold, the Man!”

Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Cleanse me, and I will be whiter than snow.
