The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.

The blood of goats and bulls is sprinkled on people. So are the ashes of a young cow. They are sprinkled on people the law called“ unclean.” The people are sprinkled to make them holy. That makes them“ clean” on the outside.

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,

Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow, sprinkling those who are defiled, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled consecrated them and provided ritual purity,

我所命之禮儀、有定例焉。使以色列族牽牝犢、其色維騂、純潔是務、未嘗負軛者、予之祭司以利亞撒、使牽出營外、宰於其前、祭司以利亞撒、以指染犢血、灑於會幕前、凡七、犢及肉、皮、遺矢、與血、爇之以火、祭司目擊、取柏香木、牛膝草、絳色棉、投諸火中、與犢同焚、祭司必蒙不潔、當澣衣濯身、迨夕乃免、然後入營。爇犢者亦蒙不潔、當澣衣濯身、迨夕乃免。蒙潔之人、必取犢灰、置於營外潔地、為以色列族存之、和灰於水、藉以去污贖罪。取犢灰者亦蒙不潔、宜澣厥衣、迨夕乃免、以色列族與諸賓旅、著為永例。○凡捫人之尸必蒙不潔、迨七日乃免。至三日與七日、必以斯水自滌、然後成潔、凡捫尸不自滌理、不以去污之水、灑其身、則仍不潔、玷我會幕、必絕於以色列族中、倘人偶死於幕、有定例焉、凡在幕中、或入此幕者、必蒙不潔、迨七日乃免。凡諸器皿、未覆以蓋者、亦蒙不潔。在野有見殺者、或自斃之尸、或人骨、或荒塚、凡捫之者、必蒙不潔、迨七日乃免。欲使不潔者復潔、必取贖罪之犢灰、置於器皿、加以活水、蒙潔之人、浸牛膝草於中、灑幕與器、及在幕之眾、更及捫見殺者自斃者之尸、捫骨捫塚者、越至三日、及七日、潔者必灑不潔者、歷至七日、使澣衣濯身、迨夕始潔。人蒙不潔、而不以去污之水、灑身自滌、則乃不潔、既玷我聖室、必絕於民中。凡以去污之水灑人、當澣厥衣、凡捫去污之水必蒙不潔、迨夕乃免、著為永例。

以血染指、灑於施恩所東、又灑其前凡七。厥後宰山羊、為民贖罪、攜血入簾、灑於施恩所上、又灑其前、如灑犢血然。緣以色列族染污俗、重負罪愆、而玷聖所會幕、故亞倫代之贖罪。

爾既感聖神潔靈府、順真理、友誼無偽、誠心切愛、

爾潔我心、滌我罪、如濡牛膝草而洒之、使我皭然皓白、勝於雪兮、

無分彼此、惟以信潔其心、

成潔之事、有常例焉。以贖罪之水灑之、使毫髮盡薙、濯衣成潔。
